A modern 1TB microSD card takes up 1/2,969,534,667 the space of equivalent HDD storage in 1983. 1TB of HDD storage in 1983 would require 490 cubic meters of space, half again as big as my house. Set up in parallel, the 1983 drives would probably have faster access times. :p

Edit:
$320/MB for the HDDs
$0.000122/MB for the microSDs

They should have made microSDs instead of HDDs. People were stupid back then.

Random fun fact that's not really advertised that most people may not know: You can send a text to an email, and you can also text via email.

To text to email, you just put the email instead of a number, and it will actually send an email.

To do the other way around is a bit less obvious as you need to know what carrier the number is on, but basically most carriers will have a [7digitnumber]@text.carrier.com email or similar. If you send an email there it will arrive as a text on the person's phone.

This can come in handy in some situations, for example our techs will sometimes text to our email if they are checking in or out of a building as it's just easier than calling or they might be in a bad reception area but a text will go through.

With more than 950 locations, McDonald’s has a 20.2 per cent share of Australia’s $19.3 billion fast-food industry, according to market research firm IBISWorld, which estimates its revenue at $3.9 billion in 2017, a 4.3 per cent increase on the prior year.

McDonald's Australia lodged with the corporate regulator show revenue for calendar 2021 hit $1.831bn, up 6.5 per cent from $1.719bn posted in 2020.

-just amazing , how can they make any money paying people fair wages? /s

AUS$29.23 = US$19.76

Australia doesn't have employer-based health insurance or workers comp which saves companies stupid amounts of money.

Uncle Sam had a networked battle simulator with complete tank mockups, a fully 3d world and battalion on battalion combat with hundreds of people playing at once. A slightly later version included helicopters from Ft. Benning, so you had people playing thousands of miles apart. All this was 5 years *before* Doom.

that was so ahead of it's time
