We need less laws for victimless crime, and more focus on victim related crime. Put the cops on crime that affects people.

I see FB posts of cops bragging about pulling over cars for tinted windows or other dumb shit when there's drugs, theft etc rampant everywhere.

Not so much the drug use itself but all the crime that surrounds it. That and all the needles, fentanyl patches etc that people run across are a hazard. Even in kids playgrounds.

and yet all i hear is how the police need more funding

Police fudging shit is something that exists because the process and system is arbitrary and "because I said so based on 'professional opinion'". It doesn't have to be for crime either. Death or accidents of extremely prominent figures can be met with silence, discarded data, false assertions of facts etc because there are no systemic checks like in science.

Heck, the police report for an incident that happened to me got the date wrong by an entire month. September 28 was the day but it said August 27. And this is a Democratic County Executive they answer to.

Covering up crime is for beneficial for the state because it increases property values by reeling the security-conscious into a place lacking in security.

The entity of government may not maximize profits but they do attempt to maximize revenue sources.

Automobile stops are a gateway for drug enforcement and sometimes "tinted windows" are precisely a sign of a drug runner. Auto stops are also a general revenue stream for cops.

Wage theft DWARFS all other types of robbery. By a lot. But there were piles of news articles about the smash and grabs in SF during shutdown, and yet the DA was recalled because people were up in arms about high profile but low-impact crime:

Must feel great for people like you to think that being threatened with some mechanism of force via robbery is the same as an employer not paying their fair share. Then at the same time, advocate for greater clemency for all for those who actually commit crime.

60 years ago, the Cuban Missile Crisis brought the world to the brink of nuclear war.

40 years ago, the IBM PC was launched, and computers were never the same again.

Wage theft isn't "not paying their fair share", it is employers literally stealing money from their employees and using their position of power to get away with it. It is a crime and the employers who engage in the theft aught to be treated as any other thieves.

There are parts of at least two states (that I know of - there may be more), that are not accesible by land without passing through Canada.
