We have a group of Conservative Christians who come to campus every week on Monday to tell everyone that they're going to hell.

They've even gone so far as to heckle a group of Muslim International students as they were standing outside of the hall smoking cigarettes together and chatting. Freshman year, they were heckling a Catholic kid that tried to challenge them then and there by whipping out his bible and trying to clarify some of the bible verses they were using for their shenanigans.

Oh, btw, none of these people actually go to this University. They are from a local church that looks mainly for younger generation members.

Example: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vnQAFfycf3U Same guy coming out....every week.

How dare they? How dare those christian agitators be allowed onto a public University campus and question our orthodoxy! Those unspeakable bastards! Don't they know this is a public University and they need to shut their mouths and stop questioning authority? Isn't there a law to prevent this kind of thing at a school of higher education?

There are two sides to every story. The Christian version and the truth.

Ah, lets play that game.

"There are two sides to every story. The Muslim version and the truth."
"There are two sides to every story. The female version and the truth."
"There are two sides to every story. The Mexican version and the truth."
"There are two sides to every story. The black version and the truth."
"There are two sides to every story. The gay version and the truth."

Isn't tolerance and diversity nice...

If Muhammed's name was on it, this wouldn't have been a thread by you.

This is true. However I have trouble finding how writing any religious figures' name on a piece of paper and then stomping on it has any real educational value.

-snip-

There are actually at least Three Sides to every story.

Party A's version of events

Party B's version of events

And the actual truth...

of course one parties version of events may be closer to the actual truth.

It's not about questioning. I will gladly question orthodoxy and have read some of the more scholarly takes.

But the Christian agitators basically flame people IRL. It's simply unpleasant and ineffective.

I don't know. The Christ worshipers at my university were a pretty quiet, docile bunch. The only times I ever heard from or saw them was when they would set up their little table outside the food court and ask people to take their brochures and sign up for one of their club meetings.

Compare that to the Big Government State worshipers, who would crowd the auditorium and shout down and mock public speakers who were invited by the university to visit and speak. If university security managed to isolate and remove one group of hecklers, another group of hecklers would pop up in the audience and pick up where their friends had left off. Many speakers gave up after ten minutes and simply left the podium.

For my money, government worshipers are far worse than any other religious group I've seen.

I have had Muslim do the exact same thing to me, tell me I was going to burn in hell because I wasn't a Muslim.

Muslim, Christians, Jews are all the same.

Christians are no worst than the others. Muslims and Jews are just as bad.

This must be an example of that liberal tolerance we've heard so much about. Professor should be fired, he's not fit to teach anyone anything.

Agree. The liberals love to claim how they are so tolerant except when it comes to Christians

LOL I think this thread is making the same point that the exercise was making. Yet many still don't see it.

The professor would have been fired for hate speech and the school would have apologized,

oh and he would have made a thread about double standards and hypocrisy.

You forgot the rioting in the Muslim countries.

And thats my whole point. If this "professor" did it to every religion it wouldn't be as bad but to target Christians like this is downright wrong.

We don't actually know much about what the professor did.

The suspension was never about refusing to take part in a class exercise either. According to the articles, afterward the student in question went to the professor's supervisor, and was suspended by that supervisor for making threats.

Well, you did leave out a rather important detail in your OP about the whole 'threats' thing - plus the use of 'suspended after' and then implying 'suspended because', despite that wasn't the case.

It's the equivalent of "Athiest imprisoned after declaring there is no god", then leaving out that he was imprisoned for drunk driving. Technically true, but worded in such a fashion as to create a connection when one didn't exist.

If you're doing that on purpose, you're an agitator, yeah.

:p

Yea, how dare they come on campus and harass non-Christian students, call them "gay enablers", and tell them they're going to hell for going to parties.

Oh yea, don't forget....their God is an "Awesome", "loving God".

Good thing everyone just makes fun of them, because they are pathetic losers trying to get more people for their shitty church.

:awe:

haha, you guys have your panties in a bunch. Why so angry? Christians spend so much time bothering everyone else, saying evil shit about everyone else, persecuting everyone else, telling everyone else who they're allowed to love/marry....I tell one joke and you get upset.

HA.

I just defend Christians when they are unfairly attacked so how am I a "Christian agitator"?

You hate Muslims and you waste no time coming here to cry about how much you hate them. Anything that is Christian you post positively about, when you leave comments in threads that you didn't start about Muslims, you always have some dumb shit to say.

You are the PERFECT example of a Christian agitator.

oh noes! Not "gay enabler" The University really needs to crack down on those evil people, they need to be persecuted for actually practicing free speech! Don't they know that there is no "free speech" on this University campus? We need to shut them up, let's pass a law against free speech, but only as it applies to evil conservatives, Republicans, Libertarians, Christians and other agitators!
