I don't know man, I read he stop lifting weights. As Ahnold would quip "Big mistake!"
Mauro said something like "This is the best shape I've ever seen him in!" While his gut was flapping around obscuring his shorts. He has always had a tire, but it used to be fairly inflated, now it is saggy. His upper body is less muscular than the prime Fedor, and his traps are almost completely gone.
QFT
Fedor's undergoing what has happened to many elite fighters...the spoils of success:
1.) The media "Fedor is God" print, which affects his mind/ego.
2.) The babes, which affect his mind/ego.
3.) Wealth, which affects his hunger/desire to WIN.
4.) Concussions/wear & tear, which happen to all aging fighters. The more hits to the dome, the less resistant you become to withstand the next assault.
5.) Training. That flabby belly shouldn't be there. If he was hungry, he'd trim/tone/build upon his husky build.
6.) Mind. He's a pensive guy. He's more philosophic than your average fighter. His body language/expressions/subtext talks is like "WTF am I doing this for?" He looks like in limbo on what to do with his life....what does a fighter do after retirement even though he can still whoop ass?...well continue fighting then.
7.) Competition. It's getting better. The guys train better and are more up on techniques to defend against Fedoresque onslaughts.
