As someone who barely knew anything about Trump before he was a presidential candidate, at that point I had a modicum of respect for him, ie. the default amount of respect I'd pay to any random person (respecting their personal space, not mocking them, speak politely to them, etc), then he said this:

They're sending people that have lots of problems, and they're bringing those problems with us. They're bringing drugs. They're bringing crime. They're rapists. And some, I assume, are good people."
