Tell that to the people with technical degrees that still can't find jobs. Like me.
What's amazing is that so many mindless sheeple read headlines like the one posted and say, "If only people majored in STEM fields, then all the college grads would find jobs." Of course, they have no understanding of basic supply and demand such as the fact that doubling the number of engineers won't magically double the number of jobs for engineers at currently prevailing wage rates.
The real problems are Global Labor Arbitrage (sending jobs overseas and importing foreigners on H-1B and L-1 visas to work them in the U.S.) and the fact that our nation is sending far too many people to college when in reality only 10-15% of all the jobs that need to be done in this country require or make actual use of college education.
By saying that the problem is people's choice of major, the media, the intelligentsia, and our politicians don't have to address the issues of Global Labor Arbitrage and whether too many people are going to college.
