I picked it up for $6.80 on the first day it was on sale. I wish I wouldn't have. It does look awesome, but I have an onboard Realtek audio card and there are major issues with this game and that card. I can't play more than 15 minutes without a repeating buzzing and then a blue screen. An internet search revealed the issue....this game and Realtek soundcards don't play nice together. The fix: so far all I've been able to find is that you need to buy a new soundcard. I'm not shelling out $ for hardware just for this game.

But it does look good.......just too crashy to play.

I and many others have Realtek sound "cards" and have no issues with BFBC2 sound, whatsoever. Sorry you do. FWIW, I have also heard that removing Realtek branded drivers and running MS Windows default drivers can help.

CPU: AMD Athlon II x4 620 Propus
Mobo: MSI 785GM-E65 (integrated Radeon 4200 VC)
Mem: GSkill 2x2GB 1600 DDR3
Boot Drive: Kingston SSDNow 40GB
Data Drive: Seagate 750GB sata drive (32MB buffer 7200rpm)
Case: Antec SBQE mid tower
PSU: Antec 350W
OS: W7 Home Premium

I use the same CPU/785G board (mine is Gigabyte), never had any problem between BC2 and onboard realtech, try to get the latest driver for your OS, I use win 7 64bit. update the drivers and I think it will work fine for you.

I'm using the latest Realtek drivers. I guess I'll give the W7 64bit drivers a try instead. I hope it works because this is a beautiful, fun game although I am finding it HARD. But that's better than being easy and breezing through it.

FWIW, I using a Sapphire ATI Radeon 5750 VC and playing on high settings......gorgeous.

I use the Microsoft drivers I actually find them to be better than realtek's drivers. You might not be able to tweak them as much but they flat out work great.

I picked up Dragon Age:Ultimate Edition when it was on sale a few days ago for $24.99. I am only about 7-8 hours into the game, but I can honestly say that it is the best game I have played in a very long time. I actually feel a part of the game. In some ways I am sorry to have waited so long.

Bioware makes some of the best games.

I recently finished DA:O. It's a great game and I love that genre, but I found the game a bit too long. But I am an obsessive type of personality and I must finish every side quest or it bugs me. But, unlike Mass Effect, which had a great flow to it and was perfect length for me, DA:O tended to drag on a bit.

Enjoy!

you think you're obsessive, i sat there and crafted the one positive income potion for several hours to get tons of cash so i could buy everything. i also went back through my savegames a couple times to get a lot of different endings.

i should play the game through with a different class. something harder. i played through with an elf warrior class first.

but $10 for everything is a steal even if it's only half as good as the original.

...what?

Or it's one of the best games ever made. I have it on Steam, and have no problems. If you're that worried, there are mods for it too.
I had wasted several hours attempting all the suggested fixes to get the game in working order but nothing worked.

You can pick up Prey from Gamersgate for $2.49 and apparently the cd key can be activated on Steam. Another game for your collection. The GG page says it uses securom though.

I see a ton of places having game sale right now, amazon, D2d has some now, impluse does too. Haven't noticed this many game sales in past years, this is good trend. I haven't heard of gamersgate, they good? digital DL?

haven't used it but from what I understand you buy the games and they get added to your library of games. Once you log into your library you can access the install files and serial numbers for your games.
