Both are good with preference going to filet. For goodness' sakes whichever you choose please never, ever ruin it with that poison called A1. :p

and never cook a steak beyond medium, you might as well eat some beef jerky instead.

btw, ribeye for me!

Rib-eye has far more flavor. Fillet is more tender.

A good ribeye is more than tender enough. Therefore, a good ribeye >> fillet.

Hah here "well done" is about a perfect medium. Anything less than medium has a pulse. :Q

Depends on preparation (grill vs cast iron), and my mood.

Filet definitely has a more subtle flavor than ribeye, and is generally softer.

i don't like the soft texture of the fillet and how you can't really chew on it when it just breaks apart in your mouth. Ribeye makes you feel like you are actually eating beef.

Not into Filet Mignon. Once in a while (bacon wrapped) is ok, but it is kindda weak as a steak. Give me porterhouse :)

LOL

porterhouse is both a filet and a ribeye. Porterhouse FTW!

Porterhouse. You get the T-Bone (with NY Strip) steak AND the filet in one steak...

A porterhouse is a NY strip on one side and a filet on the other.

Depends on where I'm at. If I am home, I prefer to cook ribeyes and Porters.

At an upscale steakhouse like West Side Palm in NY? You'd be cheating yourself out of a great experience if you do not try the filet mignon there. Very very good chunk of beef indeed!!!

If you like the steak in NY, come to KC and get a real steak for much less.

Filet for me. All you guys saying the ribeye is better need to get your tastebuds checked.

Edit...saying a true steak lover would pick the ribeye is like saying a true beer lover would pick Sam Adams over everything.

A nicely marbled, correctly aged ribeye fresh from the butcher shop can't be beat.
