Stay at home moms got it easy

They live the good life. They can sleep in longer, eat a relaxing breakfast with the kids, take a nap when the kids nap, watch cartoons with them, go to the park and get some sun during the day...wow. Maybe I'll be a stay at home dad some day.

Not sure if trolling.......

But even at 20 years old I still know you are completely wrong. Moms get up early to either feed the baby, or get the kids up for school.Make everyone breakfast etc..

Well, Magnus was sure I didn't have kids. You are both wrong as hell. Have a nice day.

They do have it pretty easy when the kids get school age. Even considering the duties most housewives have during that time, there's probably always a stretch of a few hours where they can relax and watch TV. If the kids are into sports that's probably all the free time they have though. Sports eat up hella time for whoever has to handle the minutia of getting the kids ready and taking them to practice/games. That job usually falls to mom too.

I would think that would depend a lot upon how many kids they are caring for and the ages of said kids. Could be a cakewalk but could be a nightmare. Kids are pretty damn obnoxious though so I would lean toward the latter.

I was a stay at home dad for several years and the job itself is pretty much cake. I was able to coach my daughter's softball team, be a sideline judge for my son's soccer games and do lots of other fun stuff.

I also had lots of time to waste playing video games and goofing around. Add in the laundry, housework and cooking and it was still a pretty relaxed day.

The hardest part was living on one income, plus the stress of not being the breadwinner for the family. My wife was similarly unhappy because she didn't feel like a mom as much as she wished, but she is kind of a workaholic so being home full time was never what she really wanted. Today she owns a business, which I and all of the kids have worked in at one time or another, so we have the best of both worlds.

What mattered most was that we raised our three children with minimal daycare. The kids knew Mom or Dad would always be available for them and we expected more from them than any stranger ever could.

Two of my kids are adults now and one is 14. We've had conversations about the sacrifices we made to have a parent stay home. They all tell me it was worth it.

QFT

I work 6AM-2:30PM 5 days a week and play Mommy the rest of the time. Keeps the 3 year old at day care for less than 20hrs a week and the 9 year old never has any. I'm generally in charge of things like cleaning (although she cleans on Saturdays while I'm at work) meal prep, shuttling the kids around, etc.

It's not difficult and there is plenty of downtime.

Yep. Easy as pie unless the parent thinks their child has ADD.

Of course it isn't difficult. Anyone who complains about having the luxury of staying home with their kids must have evil satanic troll children or something. My wife loves every minute of it. I'd love to trade places. Our kids are angels.
