It's no picnic for the first 4 years or so. Since then though, I've been able to keep watch over them and take care of them including homework while working at home. No issues.
For those thinking you could just give them video games and let them go at it... they will - and when they're done their brains are shot and they look like zombies. It's funny, unless it's your kid you're trying to properly raise. This is why there's more organized sports and play dates (can't really let them loose on their own that young).
