No one thinks border security is a bad idea. But lots of people do think that this kind of partisan honesty you're displaying is a bad idea.

lol @ "spared the embarrassment"

The reason Mitch wouldn't allow Garland his constitutional right to be considered is that he knew that Garland would have sailed through. That is it.

In what reptile brain do you think Garland is, in any sort of way, not a long-time darling of the conservative derposhphere?

He couldn't even get consideration so in what world does he sail through? So you are saying that Mitch McConnell violated a constitutional right? Which one?

Looks like the wall certainly didn't hurt. Trump is correct, AGAIN.
Geez you are the worst king of Trump turd, a liar and stupid. By your own stats

Using Uniform Crime Reports from the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the rate of violent crime in El Paso can be calculated by combining data reported by the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office and the El Paso Police Department.
Looking broadly at the last 30 years, the rate of violent crime reached its peak in 1993, when more than 6,500 violent crimes were recorded. Between 1993 and 2006, the number of violent crimes fell by more than 34 percent and less than 2,700 violent crimes were reported. The border fence was authorized by Bush in 2006, but construction did not start until 2008.
The fence, therefore, played no role in lowering violent crime in El Paso. In fact, violent crime in the El Paso increased by 17 percent from 2006 to 2011. Contractors began building the 57-mile fence in 2008 and finished in 2009. Even then, in 2010, El Paso’s violent crime rate was among the lowest in the country for a city of its size.

Now you want to spend billions on something that will not effect crime?

Absolutely.
When I was a young lad I would not have thought such a thing possible.
As a 39 year old who watches America closely, I have no problem believing 76 percent of them could in fact be idiots. Thats hardly a fantasy.
The saying used to be that half the population was dumber than average but that calculation neglected the extraordinary impacts true geniuses have on our society. 76% of folks being dumb bunnies is completely plausible.

Yeah, those poor people working 2-3 jobs to make ends meet should stay behind the digital divide and have too much TV watching time between jobs?

If your current financial position doesn't allow for luxuries, why should you be entitled to them? By your logic, I should have my own 100 foot yacht because I'm currently behind the ocean going divide.

Trump says we will never be socialist, non-qualifier for president (thanks DNC!) Bernie's old, puckered face:

None of his speeches have moved the polls appreciably, I don't expect this to be different. Although staking out the position that Nazis were bad is somewhat new ground for him.

Also "Don't investigate me because economy" part really veered into a more dumb kind of Nixon-land.

In terms of all of this, I was being relative to Trump. Overall what I scanned through was pretty bad, but for Trump "pretty bad" is "pretty good" for the easily influenced Trump-like minds, and that is the goal after all.

The SOTU was always a rallying speech anyway and he rallied his core supporters and politics is the opiate of the masses these days.

He's a person of limited intellectual capacity combined with an amoral and pathologically narcissistic nature who puts himself above all else and nothing has changed, but he didn't pound a shoe so I guess that's a good thing.

And by your logic, pushing people down and denying them economic opportunity, and reserving luxury items for a privileged few, means that businesses build and sell fewer luxury items, and thus employ fewer people.

That's your justification? Is that the cost of doing business to ensure that the Progressheviks make America into "The Great Liberal Utopia"? Since murders and violet crimes are already happening, people shouldn't mind a few more to prove that they aren't racist.

MS-13 grew exponentially in America...they weren’t sending their lieutenants over the border. Wanna solve the crime problem, then we need to address why so many non affiliated Salvadorans get sucked in while here.

There are probably a bunch of public policy issues we can focus on to reduce crime, especially in poorer, at-risk communities. Throwing good people out because of a few bad apples doesn’t help. I’d prefer those good people start paying their damn taxes before throwing them out.

he never said border security is a bad idea, just that a border wall that does nothing about those that overstay their visa, which is how most illegals enter the country, is a bad idea, and just a waste of tax money. they do not cross where a wall would be, they arrive by air mostly.

increasing security does not necessarily include a wall.

So you have conclusion evidence about your "most" claim?

Glad to see Trump talk about late term abortion. A step in stopping the racist eugenics program started by Planned Parenthood founder Margaret Sanger (a champion of Democratic values).

Your way sounds great if you are into people living paycheck to paycheck and losing the ability to financially afford to take risks in pursuit if improving their financial situations. Not having the latest iPhone or multiple TVs isn't denying people economic freedoms.

How are people in America denied economic opportunity? Maybe it is just my "white privilege" (LOL) talking, but I feel like anyone that makes semi-reasonable, responsible decisions in America will do well, it will be hard to fail. Don't have that kid at 17 you can't afford. Get a job and work hard, opportunity is so very often disguised as hard work. Don't commit crimes.

There, I just gave every American a blueprint to success. Of course the liberals today feel that there should not be personal responsibility and everything should be handed to people..

If you do the math the more immigrants are let in the country the odds of being a victim of a violent crime decreases.
