so 76% of our country are idiots?

Give me 3 reasons why you think more border security is a bad idea, and mabe a brief explanation of each reason. try to be specific.

First, thanks for proving my point. Trumps policy isn't about border security, it's about a border wall. You'd know this if you weren't an idiot mindlessly repeating trump and right wing talking points.
Had trump actually cared about border security he would have signed the bipartisan offer sent to him before the shutdown. Had he actually cared about border security he would have accepted the democrats offer that actually had an increase in funding towards actual border security. Had trump actually cared about border security he would have spoken to the sheriff's of the border cities he visited.
Trump simply doesn't care about actual border security, he uses the talking point to rally his base and they, you, eat it up uncriticly.

I'm also guessing you don't give a shit about border security either since I can only assume you voted for Republicans in the last few election cycles. Republicans who also use immigration as a political tool with no intention of fixing the issue because it brings their base to the polls. These same Republicans who, when given the opportunity to vote on an comprehensive immigration reform bill that was not only passed with bipartisan support in the Senate but also featured funding for security and prevention before any sort of path forward towards citizenship, refused to even bring the bill to the floor of the house.

So yeah, I'll stand by my comment that people who agree with trumps immigration policy (and it is just a single policy) are idiots.

ok now explain why the same people in the house voted for "barriers" in 2013 and 2006 but now vote no?

I'll give you a hint..."spite".

Again, you prove my point. They didn't just vote for barriers, which by the way isn't the same thing as the wall he's asking for, they voted for legislation that went towards real border security and protection for immigrants.

The only "spite" is your spite against facts and reality.

he never said border security is a bad idea, just that a border wall that does nothing about those that overstay their visa, which is how most illegals enter the country, is a bad idea, and just a waste of tax money. they do not cross where a wall would be, they arrive by air mostly.

increasing security does not necessarily include a wall.

The President started to talk about a “Human” wall yesterday and *I think* Fox joined in.
Instead of admitting the wall won’t happen it will now become a human wall of increased boarder security

I wonder how big of a TV the average "poor" person has here, how new their phone.

guess you didn't notice that large LCD TVs can be had for a couple of hundred bucks and cheaper if bought used.

most anyone can afford those nowadays, even the 'poors'

and most people I know who would be considered poor do not have new phones, if they have a connected phone at all, they're lucky if they moved beyond flip phones.

several I know do not have service and use an app to make wifi calls and talk on FB.

It's a waste of money.
It feeds the police state.
It tramples on the rights of Americans.
It trashes the environment.
It encourages and reinforces the racist beliefs of chicken shits.
Coupled with lack of enforcement against employers and the insane U.S. drug policies, it creates a humanitarian disaster.

On the Trump scale he didn’t do horribly but the trump scale factors in tons of fear selling and dozens of lies.
On a scale that any other human would be judged he did poorly. The speech was intended to be about unity and there was very little attempts at unity.
He should have spoke about prescription drugs much earlier

I keep seeing republicans saying democrats don't want border security and think it's a bad idea, but I've never once seen a democrat say anything resembling that. Hell even the rebuttal last night said the exact opposite of that - it said they want more border security.

Why do republicans keep making this up? I'm assuming it's just because the president of the country lies so they think it's okay to lie too?

he'll believe anything trump says, if trump said jumping off a cliff will make you immortal he would likely do it.

It riles the base and Trump, somehow, thinks it gives him leverage for wall money despite it not being true.

The GOP has never exactly been above enormous dishonesty to accomplish policy/political goals. They probably relate to him on this better than most approaches.

1 - Lie
2 - Lie, melodrama
3 - Lie
4 - Not if built with environment in mind
5- More leftist created racism where none existed before
6 - No one is calling for only a wall and then ignore any other forms of enforcement.

Try coming up with valid reasons.

Hmm. Military transgender ban. How about states still having laws on the books allowing companies to fire someone just for being gay.

Plus allowing government contractors to discriminate against them now.

Also I have to be pretty suspicious that any administration with Mike Pence which aims to "solve" the HIV epidemic actually means to murder people with arrogant neglect given his actions.

Trump says he wants to eradicate HIV in America, leftist on AT P&N assumes that means Trump admin wants to murder people.

The left today for you. "Orange man bad!"

Many people were expecting off the wall twitter rage and as I look at snippets he didn't do too badly for Trump. He'll probably get a bit of a boost in the polls. Of course for all this "wonderful" new comity there is a price and that is to stop investigating him. Nope, the Trump Organization is now up for investigation and criminal lulz are certain.

What I like is his body language. He does an awesome Mussolini.

Notably, you have nothing to actually back up your claims, just "I don't want to believe you, therefore you're wrong."

Also, if you built a wall with the environment in mind, there would be gaping holes in the wall, rendering it pointless. Not even steel slats would do -- some animals need to roam freely across the border, because they don't care whether they're in Mexico or the US.

The Vice President is an evangelical who gets woozy at the thought of two men touching each other and, as governor, presided over a preventable HIV outbreak in his own state because of his beliefs/policies.

I see no evidence that Trump himself cares one iota about anybody with HIV or anybody besides himself generally.

Neither of these things portends well for such an effort even if it were to materialize. These people don't get the benefit of the doubt.

None of his speeches have moved the polls appreciably, I don't expect this to be different. Although staking out the position that Nazis were bad is somewhat new ground for him.

Also "Don't investigate me because economy" part really veered into a more dumb kind of Nixon-land.

Nice, now it is Pence's fault that HIV spread. You guys are on a roll this morning!

Of course the Democrats are the party of no personal responsibility.
