Game looks pretty boss. Basically Battlefield 4 in the Star Wars universe is what I am seeing.

I feel like EA is getting crazy on game prices these days though. The basic edition is $79.99 on Origin 😵

lol, saw this on another forum:

In the past the early prices are wrong, and they get adjusted when final release dates come out.

Why would anyone want them to spend time on a 5 hour sp campaign that would be crap anyway?
Maybe with this focus on mp the launch will not be a train wreck this time.

Why would someone just want to play BF3, BF4, BF Hardline, BFxxx in space and just run around shooting stuff without a story?

Just kidding, sort of but for 60.00 I dont think it is unreasonable to think Dice could include a decent single player campaign for those who are interested or dont have the interest or skills to play online.

I normally don't think SP matters and have skipped it in every BF I've played for the most part. However Star Wars games are just a different animal, they attract a very... peculiar crowd. It's a lucrative crowd no doubt, but peculiar. I remember playing SWTOR and there was a noticeable voice/presence of "I dont really play video games or only play Star Wars games" individuals.

There have been multiple threads asking if the snowspeeder cable takedown on the AT-AT was a cutscene or if it was controllable, and I always posted this:
Once the Walker defenses are down you can also try a trickier but incredibly stylish move: the Tow Cable Takedown. Star Wars fans know the score: find a Snowspeeder and use its Tow Cable to entangle the AT-ATs legs, causing a fatal fall for the Walker. This is a real challenge, as damage to your vehicle can interrupt the takedown, and you also need to stay closer and closer to the AT-AT for each turn you take around it. Saving the day this way though will be a thrilling heroic deed.

I took this to assume you were fully in control of the speeder and had to manually wrap up the AT-ATs legs, I was wrong:

Levelcap's recent video he posted says the snowspeeder is not controllable during the attack, and that there is a bar on the screen and that you have to keep a little snowspeeder icon in a certain place on it.
Well, I guess those of us not happy with no piloted AT-AT can at least know that the snowspeeder pilots will be having a bit less fun.

It's going to be terrible (for you guys), so don't buy it/play it/etc. I mean it requires Origin, so right there...

Meanwhile, my vacation time disappears right around Thanksgiving... and I ignore my family for a week.

I am more excited about the small chance of Star Wars: Battlecry being completed and released.

I hope EA has learned from Titanfall and BF4 to create an addicting shooter. If its fun, I'll use Origin. . .

I'm thinking this will be similar to a better battlefield game but star wars themed. My friend is getting it on ps4 so I may too but no single player campaign. I never played any of the other star wars battlefront games but from research those seemed to have a lot more included than this one. It says you can control AT-AT's but I don't know if you can actually drive them, also no space battles.

Although if I could pretend like I was playing n64 and wrangle an AT with that zip cord that would be fun.

Well this is turning out just as I was expecting when Disney sold out and gave all meaningful Star Wars games to EA which was years ago already. And EA gets exclusive control over all nonmobile Star Wars games for like what 10 years or that type of crap?

game looks so promising but i tend to agree with this guys analysis. it seems over-simplified. i will miss some things - no squads? unlimited health? no classes?

Biased but not wholly inaccurate; there will be Luke just not dressed for Hoth apparently even at Hoth.

Can add the snowspeeder minigame instead of actual control during towcable attacks to it though.

It doesn't say that luke isn't in the game. It's just saying that's not luke.

While funny, it was made by an idiot who doesn't understand the difference between less and fewer, etc. Gotta give the idiot a little wiggle room for not being intelligent.

I took it to mean: no hero units.

They have this partner system which is basically like a two man squad. Apparently, they hope what makes people like it is that anything you have unlocked, your partner can access.

Not good enough. I play pretty regularly with 4-6 friends. We like BF specifically for the squad feature.

It's now confirmed that AT-ATs will appear only in Walker Assault:

https://www.reddit.com/r/StarWarsBa...or_the_attention_of_the_devs_aimed_at/csfpllk

Sledgehammer of DICE said:
Walker Assault is the only multiplayer mode that features AT-AT’s, allowing players to command this powerful piece of machinery and use all its weapons and powers.
But do know, we will feature a variety of multiplayer modes that will give players the chance to control iconic vehicles such as TIE Fighters, X-Wings, AT-ST’s, Speeder bikes and more.

So you can only have AT-ATs in one game mode, and that one game mode only permits you to operate the guns as they are AI-piloted.

I hate the word "iconic" in terms of Star Wars.

John Smedley and crew of SOE parroted the word over and over again in SWG during the NGE. Now DICE seems to be doing the same, but offering a very stripped down version of things that people want...Actually that's what SOE did as well.

"Oh yeah, the Death Star is in game...just look at the sky texture on Endor. See?"

Battlefield: Galactic Conquest doesn't look like it will ever be beaten as far as a Star Wars Battlefield type game goes. Flying frigates and AT-ATs in that game was entertaining as hell.

Worse than any of this.. the craptastic client side hit detection BF3 and 4 are known for. Prepare to fall over 20 feet after you turn the corner.

Its going to be very tough when they select this year's graphics downgrade award. It looks to be a three way tie between battlefront, the division and watchdogs.

Holy crap! I didn't know this existed. Does this have single player modes witt bots like BF1942, BF2, battlefield 1 and 2?
