All the time. I don't even bother with other radio stations now. I've been listening for about 2 years . . . makes the commute seem a lot shorter.

I've been listening to it for probably less than a year, but wish that I had been listening to it much longer. I stream it online all day at work, and listen in the car. Quality programming FTW.

I listen to NPR but in my local area we have 2 stations, and both play different clips and one plays local info alot more than the other. The one station I like is an hour away and works only 50% of the time, where the other station that only plays NPR for 2 hours a day (in the morning), is 5 minutes away from me. I have sirius satellite radio that has NPR and that helps, but I've been streaming the NPR station I like through my AT&T Tilt and it has been wonderful

I listen to it with my wife on the way to work since I don't really mind it and she doesn't seem to like the same music stations as I.

But honestly, I change it the moment she gets out of the car. Its depressing as hell, I just can't take that much news. A bunch of people died today, everyone is poor and eating dirt clods to survive, life sucks, kill yourself now before its to late. Call me selfish, but I just don't have enough energy to give a crap AND continue to function.

I thought I was the only one LOL!

Yeah it seems to me that all the radio morning shows nowadays are utter crap... It's ironic given that I have a $2000 sound system in my car yet 90 % of the time is spent listening to NPR or blues / jazz.

i'm teri gross and this is FRESCH AIR.

yeah, i listen to Diane Rheem most every day.

The locally produced shows, the BBC world sevice stuff... meh.

Talk of the Nation I run hot and cold with. When its good, its good, when its bad, man its bad.
Science Friday is almost always good.
Fresh Air is entertaining 80% of the time..
Then of course All Things Considered for the last 2 hours of work. I love hearing that bumper music. It means I'm on the home stretch.

NPR is one of the few unpolluted news sources left, I should have known the Fox News shill would pop in and drop his piece.

No doubt... :) Anything left of Limbaugh is lefty-commie stuff!

NPR is what started me on a commercial blockout. After 911, I became a news junkie. Since NPR was commercial-free, it was my station of choice. Then, my Beyond TV (Tivo) box liberated me from TV commercials. Not only am I getting more or less straight news, I'm getting no commercials.

It's a nice feeling! :)

I'll listen to it on long drives, as it definitely makes the time seem to go by more quickly. Other than that, I'll usually stick with more "standard" morning radio.

The local public radio affiliate (MPR) actually has three stations: one for news and two for music.

as far as music goes, I find that local college stations are the best. Fewer ads, diverse programming. No robot DJs yelling at you.

back home, two of the local college stations are highly-rated Jazz stations. Excellent programming.

College stations also tend to use NPR for news, if they aren't already the official NPR station for the area.

I love NPR. I've been a loyal fan for some 6 or 7 years. I like their mostly matter of fact news reporting.

All the time. I really got into after I got out of college and started working.

I listen to

ATC
The World
Morning Edition
Science Friday
This American Life
Marketplace
American Radioworks

some of those programs are produced by PRI or American Public Media but usually you can find them any NPR Station

I also listen to Fresh Air sometimes

I don't want to hear anything but music when I'm driving... that made the morning drive to work a little rough when I was using the car where the CD player doesn't work.

You're becoming an old fart.

It has been said that most people become very 'conservative' as they grow older. I've found it to be just the opposite for myself - becoming more accepting of other ideas. Probably the only thing I'm becoming increasingly intolerant to is intolerance.

Like anything though, it's possible to get an overdose of npr. The amount of npr content on public radio stations seems to vary. People that live in areas that can get more than one public radio station are lucky.
