some of npr is just pretty lame though, the "peace" programs are pretty stereotypical liberal cr@p. especially when they talk about video games they always end up talking about bullsh*t games like darfur is dying. course people who are ignorant of the subject are the perfect people to sell that kind of idea to i guess.
i find i listen to npr through podcasts more and more instead though. this american life/on the media/fresh air with terry gross/car talk

I'm going to employ a bit of hyperbole just to illustrate a point, and that's Al Jazeer. They, too, disseminate news, current events, and opinions. Another way of looking at is through analogies; a Yugo and a Ferrari are both cars, Gigli and Citizen Kane are both movies, Err Body in tha Club and Handel's Messiah are both songs. I don't see the comparison between FNC and NPR any differently.

Ok, I won't put them in the same sentence anymore. Thinking about this has brought back some unpleasant memories - mainly of fox talking heads. I'm not as sensitive to them since I haven't seen them (or any of the talking heads) since I dumped satellite tv last summer. This has been the best decision I've made this decade.

😀 I appreciate you not taking my comments too seriously, it's just the premise of FNC irritates me and I think I would be equally repulsed by an openly leftist equivalent.

Ideally, news should be the dissemination of information with light touches of analysis and not the other way around. Pre-biased and analyzed news is akin to having someone else chew your food for you. Yuck.

Louisville is lucky enough to have 3 stations as well, one for classical music, one for other music, and one that is all talk. I moved slightly out of the area and my local npr is good for the drive into and out of work, but then I just tune in on the web to Louisville's station and listen at my cube all day.

Cartalk, this american life etc get blasted on the house stereo on the weekends so I can wrench in the driveway and hear it.

This is my second year as a contributing listener. Some of the best money I ever spent.
