Please get the damn facts straight about Blizzard. Blizzard has 3 TEAMS that work on their 3 most popular franchise. One team works for Diablo, one for WarCraft, and one for StarCraft.

So youre telling us that starcraft has been in development for 9 years now? 😀

Long dev cycle...

It is my understanding that Blizzard North works on Diablo (most of the original creators of diablo have left to do other projects).

The rest of blizzard is broken up into teams, but not like youre saying.

Well, you could say they were working on various Starcraft projects...ahem...Starcraft: Ghost...ahem...who knows how much time they wasted on that crap project.

Sounds wrong to me. Kerrigan is zerg, how can they make a new race based on her? The hybrid or xel naga were supposed to be the new race or races. Also shutting down the original sc servers? Thats bullcrap! Not even EA steeps that low.

kerrigan's zerg/terran hybrid... and there were missions which hinted of zerg/toss hybrids.

Every single zerg unit started life as somthing else, kerrigan is no exception. She was a terran, shes now a zerg. She was the overminds pet project making her special but she is still zerg.

uhh, zerg was created as a distinct entity by the xel'naga. every single zerg unit starts life as a larvae. they have the power to assimilate other entities but they are hybrids.

kerrigan's a hybrid. she can psi-storm and cloak. no zerg unit can.

The overmind was the distinct entity not the zerg, all the zerg units you see *in the game* came from a larvae but their gene pool came from somthing else. Hydralisks were an assimilated peaceful species, same with mutalisks and the rest. Kerrigan is merely an infested human thats had special treatment. Shes a zerg not a hybrid. If they wanted to they could make more kerrigans, what would that do to the games balance though? Exactly, throw it out the window. Just because she can cloak and psi storm dosent mean crap.

she's got the powers of a toss templar, a terran ghost, and a zerg defiler.

do you need a dictionary to look up the word hybrid?

You dont know crap about starcrafts story, go read the 3 or so pages in the manual. Its only 3 pages shouldnt be too difficult even for you. Also... actually play the missions about the hybrids... it will help your limited understanding of things.

i'm korean, i've played starcraft backwards and forwards billion times over. so instead of spouting baseless statements why don't you try answering my question

I dont give a rats ass where you're from, im brittish, whooope f-ing dooo. You think kerrigans a hybrid and you're wrong. Shes a zerg, simple as. Its obvious you havent played stacraft much at all, at least not the single player storyline part. You think your all knowing about sc because your korean?? hahahaha, pitiful... Not to say i know everything about it, but i know kerrigan is a zerg and your wrong 🙂

She's a Zerg, but had the Overmind succeeded in "assimilating" the protoss, those units would also technically be Zerg...but I can understand his argument when you consider that Kerrigan has a will of her own to a greater extent than even the cerebrates - yet there are also infested Terrans who are mindless minions of the zerg.

Firing Squad is reporting that Blizzard does plan to announce a new title in mid-May, but neither FS nor Blizz actually stated what they were going to announce. Hopefully its not a another crappy WoW expansion, but based on Blizzard's hiring posts, its probably an MMO or related project.

Kerrigan is a Zerg, however she does have the unique attribute of having her own will, more than even the cerebrates. Cerebrates revere the Overmind almost as a god, Kerrigan almost despises the Overmind. When they announce SC2, its not a stretch to say that Kerrigan would be leading, at the very least, a faction of the Zerg. As I recall, at the end of Brood War, she controlled the remaining Zerg swarms? Hopefully, SC2 will continue the storylines of Raynor, Kerrigan, Zeratul, and Duran.

And I won't even bother to address Acanthus's specific comments towards me. He knows dang well that I've played many MMOs and that my comments about Blizzard and WoW ring true.

If it's in the Starcraft universe and is anything but Starcraft 2 RTS, I will be extremely disappointed. If they make a SC MMO instead of a real sequel I'll cry 🙁

World of... starcraft? I dont really want that i hope its starcraft 2 they announce. If anyone lives near blizzard HQ please throw eggs at their windows if they dont announce sc2, thanks in advance 🙂

God I hope it's not world of starcraft. I really want a competitive game to play these days. Arena in WoW is meh and the game itself is alright not to the point where it was addicting or as fun as Brood War or War3

These guys had better hurry up then, or their starcraft/warcraft mod will have been a wasted effort.

I forgot about that. Geez, I think they started this project when Warcraft 3 came out or shortly thereafter. It must be at least 3-4 years in the making for a mod.

I haven't heard of a release date yet for them, though I check in on them occasionally. Its a mod I'm looking forward to.
