4 minutes? Hmm. Maybe not then. Usually they don't last more than 10-15.

Soon after my observer is out I'll be pushing with a couple sentries/stalkers/zealots and some immortals/colossi depending on who I'm playing against.

This is assuming they aren't fast expanding zerg or teching too hard, in which case I may go 4gate.

I can do a 4 minute win against the computer if I play Terran. Just make 1 vespene extractor and just enough gas for a barracks with Reactor. Shit out marines real fast. It can be done.

With Zerg no way. Too weak and too much crap has to be built and you lose a drone each time.
And Protoss is too expensive for a really quick win, though they can get relatively early wins with Zealots if you are lucky.

just did some simulations for mass marines in the unit tester map. 4 siege tanks in siege mode with no marines to help at all can take on up to 65 marines without any micro on either side.

at 65 marines it is pretty even and either side could win. Obviously if you add stim pack, marines will win, or certain upgrades on either side could do the trick but still, siege tanks destroy mass marines.

just had a really good match. 2v2, was 2 platinum players(me and another guy) against 2 diamond players.

Lasted 42 minutes and we ended up winning. I'm now 6-0 in 2v2 games, lol.

Damn I made gold in 3v3. I lucked into some good groups actually. I'll probably be the weak link in games at that level.

If anyone wants to play, you can hit me up.

I"m platinum 1v1

On a side note, i LOVE the idea of player manipulation. In other words, if I introduce a unit, the opponent will have to counter. With this idea at hand, I usually introduce with Void Ray harassment, but back it up with zelot/stalker push.

I heard stories about guys wiping out the enemy early on with SCV's or Drones, but I've never seen it.

It works better with SCVs. It has happened to me.

I did my cannon rush against an SCV rush... sucked. Guy had a lot of SCVs coming after me. I couldn't counter it because he destroyed my warpgate and pylon before I could summon anything. :(

I thought that one game was kind of amusing with the guys griefing the other player by taking their vespene geysers :p.

Just tells me... people are really mean when you get higher up in leagues . Reminds me of the PVPers in WoW, "Red is dead!"

Planting assimilators on another protoss's vespene geysers is a great way to slow down their tech progress. No stalkers/warpgates.

Also, bad players won't even noticed that you took their geysers for a bit, since the concept is so weird to them, giving a small view of their base until they break it down.

What about sticking up buildings near his home base so he has to move out to make his own stuff?

This is pretty annoying. What's a good way to counter this with Terran? I figure sending my SCVs to destroy it is a waste of time and minerals.

i cant believe they didn't notice your SCV winning that game for you FFS that was bad

also vern is bad

yea, he is getting better though. I'm in bronze 2v2's when I partner with him and Gold 2v2 when I do random partners, but he is starting to get the hang of it.

also that SCV is the shit, I love that I caught that dude in the middle of making stalkers and he seemed to have no idea his production had stopped.

lol is everything that is against you greefing or cheesing?

No?

But I'm pretty damn certain the term griefing well applies to building a vespene extractor on a vespene geyser in your opponent's initial base.

So, would you please mind kindly getting off my ass about stupid shit?

get 1 marine to shoot it down, and have an SCV build on the other geyser.

I did vespene geyser steals for a while, it's pretty funny, especially if you can plant two or three assimilators if the other guy doesn't kill your probe. On the other hand it takes good fast micro to really take advantage of it (keeping your probe safe if you can, watching the HP of the assimilator so you can build another, etc).
