People say Starbucks is more expensive but I noticed their medium is the same size as a Crap Hortons extra large, for roughly the same price. It's just the fancies you pay a fortune for. I used to like their black tea lattes until I reverse engineered them at home. I wish there was a place like that near my work.

I disagree. At Tim Hortons here, an Extra large is about $1.72 which is the same size as a Venti, which costs $2.52.

Where else are you going to use your Apple products? Where else are you going to look important and business like sitting at a chain coffee shop with your laptop open as if you're doing any actual work.

Wouldn't it be better to sit at a desk at home or an office where it's quieter, less distractions, more room?

Or are you just a trendy, low esteem, & desperate for attention?

Me? I own an iPod Touch, that's it from Apple. I get a coffee to go, that's all. As I've stated, it's close, it's coffee, and I'll likely be hung over. But if you want to be a presumptuous asshole, that's cool; it makes you no better (in fact, worse) than the people you harp on.

Keep on being you.

BTW, which independent shop (non-chain) do you buy your stuff from (computer, tv, coffee, food, furniture, music, etc)? I'd really like to know. Then again, you buy from the same chains as everyone else, you hypocritical prick.

Why you mad, though?

Because of all the fags sitting at a chain restaurant with their laptop crying for attention.

I recently found out that the espresso machine in my local coffee shop costs over 15k dollars.

Maybe new. But I bet that shop bought theirs used for only couple thousand or is leasing it. There's no need to buy new in the restaurant industry. Places go under all the time and stuff is sold for pennies on the dollar.

I swear I'm not shilling for Caribou here. $2 is basically what Starbucks charges for the same size. Not to say that isn't a lot for a cup of coffee. At least here, you get a little break, $1 mediums on Mondays.

McD's is definitely, without question, the best deal. Especially because they know that if I set foot in there, an Egg McMuffin is coming with me. So a buck for coffee is just the bait :)

At least at Caribou, the food is pretty bad. So I never have the urge to eat there. Man I love McD's breakfast.

There's a Starbucks near me, and sometimes I'd rather just go there because it's quicker. However, I feel like an idiot whenever I order. I just want a coffee. A big, regular coffee.

Usually I'd just say "Large Coffee" or "Extra Large Coffee" but "Venti" makes me sound like an idiot. "Venti Coffee"? "Bold Venti"? Seriously, what the hell am I supposed to say?

Shouldn't you feel more like an idiot now that you've told the entire internet how you have such a hard time getting through an order at a coffee shop?

Drank Starbucks for over a decade, then one day I could not stomach it any more. It's just really, really bad coffee.

For some reason when I went to Seattle, even SB was good. What's up with that state? Never had bad coffee there.

Starbucks is ok, I stop once in awhile. Not my favorite but lots of caffeine. I even learned to say "grande coffee - black". I don't care for the latte stuff. I really love my coffee and it has to be fresh, and that's what I can usually count on if I'm out and about. You can get a great cup of coffee at a gas station if they just made it, and they wash out the pot once a month or so. But I usually do the drip maker w/ timer thing. My favorite coffee is Jamaican Blue Mountain, kind of an acquired taste but too damn expensive.

Danny: Can I get a large black coffee?
Barista: A what?
Danny: Large black coffee.
Barista: Do you mean a venti?
Danny: No, I mean a large.
Barista: Venti is large.
Danny: No, venti is twenty. Large is large. In fact, tall is large and grande is Spanish for large. Venti is the only one that doesn't mean large. It's also the only one that's Italian. Congratulations, you're stupid in three languages.
Barista: A venti is a large coffee.
Danny: Really? Says who? Fellini? Do you accept lira or is it all euros now?

Apparently he special ordered them from italy(i only know this because my friend been a manager for his coffee shops for quite a while). The coffee shops he has in my area have made him enough money for a private jet so i guess 15k is nothing.

They do make the best espresso i've ever had. Not that I'm some coffee snob but I can tell the difference. It's expensive, but really only maybe 25 -75 cents more than starbucks for drinks.
