Okay. Something to think about is that if you have major questions from the movies and are motivated enough to search them out on the web for the answers, then it is a good movie
That scene actually bugged me a bit on the second watching. The whole area seemed to be this sort of semi-lawless, finders-keepers sort of land, and what claim did Rey have to make that guy let BB-8 go? It just seemed really weird.
I was saying that the first time through. How did she know the droid didn't belong to the guy?
They also never explained why BB8 was following her around when she told him to leave and he had another mission. He just... was.
I've only seen it once, and that really bothered me from the moment she started walking over to the guy.
SO im guessing the Republic is significantly weakened now that they just lost 5 planets including their main seat? On a side note, I would have loved to see Jar Jar on that main planet look into the sky right before i blew up.
ANd whats left of the First Order? Im guessing they lost almost all they had on that Ice planet.
I avoided this thread like the plague up until now when I've finally seen the flick, so here it goes.
First and foremost, this film is 100% transitioned not towards a good continuing story, but rather being PC. I noticed it right off the bat.
First you have a token black guy. Randomly, after 6 episodes, you MAGICALLY not only put in a black guy, but make him the main male character of the story for most of the flick. Bravo. you have done what every other stereotypical movie can do. Douchebag move, as always. Stick with the story line would be safe, but instead you venture out into stupidity.
Second, you have the PC genre of trying to get rid of the "Damsel in Distress". Except Leia was never really a Damsel in Distress. She had tons of use. But they were clearly seeking to eliminate that altogether by making an ultra buff woman that can magically be more physical than male counterparts. Boy oh boy what a surprise.
Third, you have the eye-rolling overall genre of "Smart woman, stupid male" role. The token black guy showed from the very beginning he was not only stupid, but a complete pussy. All the while, the woman was smart as a whip, knew how to magically fly vehicles she has never stepped in, and could beat the shit out of huge ass monsters at any point.
Fourth, the anti-hero was something out of todays emo kids. I expected him to threaten to slit his wrists half-way through the movie. Holy shit could you pick a worse actor than the Anakin one? Yes. Yes you can!
That's all I have for now. I'm going to drown myself in drinks from how shitty that movie was tonight.

And it would have been fun if they had a stormtrooper trip or bump his head. Fanservice dammit.
I think Kylo and Rey are twins. But otherwise yeah exactly. Are you joking or was that serious critic? If serious let me tell you why you're an idiot so I can get my internet forum superiority buzz on.
1) Lando Calrizian.
2) Chick is Luke's daughter and happens to have some force powers. The guy she fights is Leia's son and Leia seems to have little to no force powers along with Han so it would make sense that their son isn't particularly strong in comparison. Meanwhile Han is still a badass and there is the great commentary on the old school man having the emo son and he just doesn't understand where he went wrong.
3)Luke was able to magically fly anything in the first movie despite seeming to only be able to fly a speeder before he leaves tatooine.
There are plenty of things to critic in the movie yet you managed to pick out 3 things that were just carry-overs from the original movie while you despair about this new movie being not as good. Time to take a look at yourself and see if maybe your political views have calcified your critical thinking skills.

I dont think Lukes daughter, He cant take a wife or have kids if he truly followed the ways of the Jedi. But yeah even if separated at a very young age they would have to know. Although Han did jump at the chance to partner with her and Leia did hug her before Chewie, the falcon was on her planet, and they Han did get wind of it real fast.
Im still leaning towards twins.

Although, the next film is actually Rogue One in 2016, and then Episode VIII in 2018.
A lot of you need to let go of your questions and "issues" with the movie. There a easily just as many plot issues and holes in the OT yet those have not been put to the scrutiny that this one movie has. In fact we seem to laugh at the ridiculousness of the issues in the OT, but for some reason, with this new movie we get angry/frustrated.
Just ENJOY THE GOD DAMN THING for what it is.
Star Wars was NEVER a literary master piece -- nor is it ever going to be.
Just be ecstatic it is light years (parsecs?) better than the prequels and their story lines.
And we are back to a May release. Thank goodness.VIII is may 2017
They're not twins, and the Jedi Order was destroyed before Luke, lol.I dont think Lukes daughter, He cant take a wife or have kids if he truly followed the ways of the Jedi. The other thing that cries out for an explanation is Starkiller base. How did the remnants of the Empire build such a thing. Where did the resources and money come from? Why did they build another resource intensive super weapon when it was historically obvious that it was a poor investment?

it destroyed the Republic capital & fleet, so that investment paid off even though it was only used once
