It seems to be a reoccurring trend in Star Wars. Luke uses the dark side to overpower Vader in 6. Hatred has its uses. 😛

Just watched the episode where they get ambushed by some old Droid troops. If you want to see how much more they're spending on animation, just compare the clone wars tactical Droid (precursor to the strategy Droid in rogue one I'm assuming) with the tactical Droid in rebels. Much more refined drawing.

Technically they're Super Tactical Droids, just in case anyone starts Googling images. (That specific droid, Kalani, was in TCW S05 E03 & E04, IIRC)

i thought this episode sucked, too much talking, not enough blasting imperials.
And this is why we can't have deep things.😛

good episode but you can see the ending from a mile away once she's consumed by anger/guilt.

of course she beats a jedi in light saber combat.
nevermind that she only started learning how to wield a saber a few days ago.
meh

Did she though? Or did he let her work through some issues? If anything he was holding waaaaay back. Even when she was over him he could have force pushed her away. I honestly took it that he let her so she'd stop whining so much. Also why the other two didn't jump in and try to stop her. While they did get the OMG faces, not one (including a jedi (or jedi wannabe) did anything to remotely stop her. It's not like she was moving too fast, she gave a monologue while she had her saber up.

Onderon is not the same as Alderaan.
whoops :embarrassed:

ahh.. good point.
but they could have done it better.
ie: padawan could have reassured the other guy that it's part of kenan's plan by not looking shocked

I don't disagree.. I sometimes have to remind myself this is written for a younger age group than I am so details like that aren't needed.

Rebels is weak IMHO. Way too many filler droids. I like all the characters but the stories are just weak outside of 2 or 3 episodes per season.

Clone Wars was epic. I rewatched the entire series last month. There are of course weak episodes they were few and far between. If they wouldn't have made such a terrible lead in to the movies it would have done better.

Wish they cold blend some of the quality story telling from Clone wars into Rebels. It has a ton of potential. Look at the Ashoka and Vader episodes last season...

Has this been approved for a season 4 yet? I heard a rumor that 3 might be it.
I've heard season 2 as being "The empire strikes back" season, which suggests this would be the last in the "trilogy". They haven't been developing Ezra much outside of the pilot this season so it's fine by me.

Nothing public. But due to the long lag time in producing episodes of cartoons, Disney will have made the decision a good 3 to 6 months ago. So they know.

Overall Rebels has bad ratings relative to even its lower costs. But Disney seems committed to using it as an anchor show for a network no one watches. And unlike poor Tron Uprising, as a Star Wars property it has enough name recognition such that it can be kept around as a prestige project and that it'll sell toys regardless of how many people watch it.

Tron Uprising may have been the best cartoon Disney ever made. Cancelling it was deeply unfortunate. Shows like Rebels and even Clone Wars can't really compare.

Did Lt. Lyst just exclaim "Dromund Kass!" as he was dragged away? I hope so as it would be Darth Vitiate's imperial throne world of the Sith Empire canon.

I feel like Rebels should have done a dramatic change in style. It resembles the Clone Wars too much.

Maybe something that was less clay-like, more realistic would have been welcome. Much more expensive that way too. Maybe then live action?

Rebels is a cut rate version of Clone Wars done on a shoe string budget. I wish Disney would invest more to made these spinoffs higher quality but they're a for profit company first and visionaries second. The live action show envisioned by George was canned by Disney for just that reason.
