latest controversy: pay to win mechanic for large ships
they came up with blade modules to help automate large ships with multiple crew stations and other equipment modules(gunner station, bomb racks, etc). said blades were purchase only and not available any other way so P2W advantage.
players raised the riot flag and cig walked it back somewhat by making some of the blades available with ingame currency and blaming poor communication.

the bigger issue is the money grab suggests they are finally running out of money. publicly released total money spent vs total raised is getting close to each other meaning fundraising has finally squeezed the fans dry. the limited number of whales remaining cant make up for the general lack of incoming money. squadron42 needs to bring in a ton of new people/money and even then the chances of them finishing the open world game seems in doubt with their current burn rate.

Well, hope they release it with complete source code and give back to the community what they have taken from at least a million gamers.

They might find a buyer though.

Meh, I loaded it again. I will report back at sometime.
Community is pissed they’ll probably be pulled or nerfed. What I’ve read they aren’t that much of a bonus.
As I have said at this point only buy into the game knowing there are risks up to and including it never being released.
Bit I played it’s oddly satisfying buying cargo, loading your ship, traveling somewhere then unloading and selling the cargo boxes. Pretty cool mechanic having physical cargo. I can understand why someone wouldn’t like that slow style of play.

-The people shoveling money at Cloud Imperium are not victims. They paid for hopes, dreams, and promises. Not a tangible product.

They got exactly what they paid for.

This guy is the Elon musk of PC gaming...
Oh wait but at least Elon does come out with some of his Tesla creations.

Both talk and over promise, but i think Chris Robberts is more of a Con Artest then Elon is.

That and Starfield's ship builder. I do wonder how good the missions will be. It looks like it is similar to the old multiplayer methods. It doesn't look like you can hop into turrets on a ship and shoot at enemies but not sure. I've already seen pictures of Borg cubes and star destroyers.

Nobody is releasing anything of note next year with GTA6.

10 years later and the song "It'll be released soon" continues to play. At this point will anyone that hasn't already bought the 'game' care?

There's only two playable systems in the live version of the "game" after 15 years in development lol. You'd have to be an idiot to venture into this unfinished pipe dream of a project after all this time.

It's me, I'm the idiot. Sorry, I'm a sucker for space-y stuff... and I eventually got bored with Elite and X4 (both games are highly superior to SC in terms of playability, obviously)
