No, I did not get a refund so far. Only replies from ShakenWell and then from DonKarnage, telling me to wait for a specialist.

If they are stalling on refunds you guys who bought into this are screwed. Only reason not to give out refunds is if you are out of cash.

With the exception of refunds given within the 14 days from purchase, last known refund was from January 2018 or so. Since then, everybody who requested a refund is told to wait for a "specialist".

I am sure that by now they burned most if not all the money they got from the players. With nothing to show for it.

I haven't been keeping up with SC for a while now. Not good seeing people waiting so long for refunds. I do really hope they manage to pull off this game, we'll see.

Money wise I'm not concerned, I put hundreds in, but got out double what I put in thanks to the gray market way back when.

I almost requested a refund a year ago. I actually made a refund request in March 31st, 2018.

I wanted everyone to request a refund a long while back. Sorry you lost but ponzi schemes will burn people.

I'm $80 into this. If CIG went belly-up today, I could honestly say I got my $80 worth of entertainment out of the project. Spent probably 40 hours in AC just racing (way back in the 2.3 days). Learned a lot about software development. Learned more about poor communication with supporters.

I'm still hoping for Squadron 42. That's really all I want at this point.

I saw this. It pisses me off. I know CIG can't completely control their mods....but damn, they're getting out of control!

lol. They have been deleting posts for rule 9 for 5 years. They know exactly what they are doing.

You are naive if you think mods act like this without CIG's blessing.

I have lots of experience in this matter.

Cyberpunk 2077 was announced about the same time without ever taking a penny, and it's probably even coming out at the end of the year.
what does that teach you?
It tells you that I am absolutely correct in my saying that video games from an established studio take 4-5 years to develop, with MMO's taking longer.... Cyberpunk 2077 had 50 people working it before it was announced, in 2012... It is coming out next year (according to latest info).

RPGs, MMOs, and especially MMORPGs have some of the longest development times for games.

star citizen is bloated with feature creep and excess failed design choices. there is nothing normal about its development.

^^Both of those were basically my point. Cyberpunk is 300+ devs now. It is a massive, presumably next-gen game, but still just single player and will have taken ~6 years. They also did all this without taking a dime. SC being an mmo with much broader scope can be forgiven to an extent for the long dev time... except they have continuously bloated with feature creep and wasted 2 years of development figuring out wtf they actually wanted to do, all while selling hundreds of millions in preorders. I think where they completely went of the rails was the decision to put planets in. Such an unnecessary mechanic that piled on far too much engineering work.

its all engineering debt. They still need to make a space news van and a mini game drink making game for that starliner. They never thought more about a thing then to tell us a thing would be in game. Star citizen sounded amazing because they told us all a bunch of redacted that was impossible.

Profanity is not allowed in the tech
areas, and you already received an
infraction for it in this very thread.

CDRED has talent top to bottom, right now they are the gold standard development studio surpassing Valve in my opinion.

It shouldn't be surprising to see where Star Citizen is currently, just look back on Chris Roberts history of feature creep and an unfocused management style. Nobody in the industry would hire this guy because he is a blackhole for money. Saying a feature costs X amount of money is so short sighted, you cant just buy features like when your going grocery shopping.

Stealing jpg ships from Eve now?

It's bullshit. I don't blame the designers. They present ideas and drafts to CR. CR makes the ultimate decision. You'd think $188 million could buy some creativity and outside-the-box thinking. But no. They steal from something else.

The sad part is that they'll raise $2 million from the sale of the concept.

It really is a sad tale.

But Roberts got drunk on crowdfunding power. And here we are. I feel for you all that haven't gotten a refund.
