Special Counsel Mueller has submitted his report to Attorney General Barr

Personally, I think the biggest thing to keep in mind is that Barr's statement is about whether or not Mueller was able to establish sufficient evidence to sustain a criminal indictment/conviction of conspiracy with the Russians to influence the election/hack the DNC/whatever. There's lots and lots of behavior in between 'nothing' and 'criminal indictment' that people would likely view as collusion with the Russians.

I strongly suspect there will be considerable information in that middle ground in Mueller's report. You never know though, which is why the public needs to see as much of it as possible and why Congress needs to see all of it.

This.

Trump's enablers rightly see themselves before a precipice of public opinion. Already worried over more than 2/3rds of the country not believing the summary changes much, they are hammering on why people shouldn't care about the ethics involved now. Now I'm hearing republicans distinguish between accomplice and unwitting accomplice. Pretty amazing stuff really, that this is where republicans find themselves today. Reagan's corpse is spinning so much it could generate wattage for a small NE town.

Hoping this is where that wave for 2020 really picks up momentum. I don't want Trump to just lose, I want him to be crushed like the worthless insect he is. Then SDNY can eat the remains. If Obama had 1% of this Trump level stink on him the republicans would be demanding a military tribunal and subsequent firing squad.

For the sake of this country I hope Dems take Senate and WH, and I say that as someone who abhores one party rule. The GOP had it's chance to stand up. Instead it choose to sit down and shit it's pants.

Not to mention if the governing idea is that a sitting president can not be indicted, then it would be inappropriate for Mueller to draw a conclusion anyway. Mueller may very well have personally concluded that he did obstruct justice. Viewing Barr's letter as exoneration is absurd. That said, if the Mueller report is released and does, in fact, say this - the Trump loyalists will explode with more "derp state" non-sense.

Edit: Listening to Dan Abrams' show on SiriusXM and he said that his suspicion is the above almost verbatim.

hmmm
Good. Don't relent on the pressure. R's have already tried once to take the air out of it and failed.

Subpoenas authorized. Nadler ain't playing around

Trump's still got a few toes left and plenty of ammo. Time to close the border? Mr. All Mouth No Brains has once again walked back his talk. Nevermind that public release of the report I swear totally exonerates me! Just kidding!

I think we're going to see another tantrum here shortly. Orange baby gonna need a fresh diaper.

Well this is awkward:
Some on Mueller’s Team See Their Findings as More Damaging for Trump Than Barr Revealed

NYTimes.com said:
WASHINGTON — Some of Robert S. Mueller III’s investigators have told associates that Attorney General William P. Barr failed to adequately portray the findings of their inquiry and that they were more troubling for President Trump than Mr. Barr indicated, according to government officials and others familiar with their simmering frustrations.

If true, this is the first actual leak from the Mueller team. This has got to be a Washington record.
Sounds like it could be third-hand info at this point, but given how NYT embraced the narrative of Barr's letter, it doesn't seem like they would report this if they didn't trust the sources.

Yup. I hate it when the left celebrates someone’s desth

/s

Too lazy to look it up. But which one of the right wingers here complained about the left celebrates someone’s death

If someone here celebrated mueller’s death, that’s one thing but to have a sitting president celebrate any American's death is disgraceful. Either say something nice or don’t say anything at all.

I mean what are we doing here. How is such a reply even possible?
A schism.
Read up on the Sunni VS Shia split among Islam.

In my lifetime, America has been split in twain. This damage cannot be undone. Nor can the two peoples peacefully settle differences. Nor live together ere long before desperate and escalating force turns to violence and war. To utterly annihilate and or subjugate the other.

I have seen them steadily march towards such a conclusion since 2016. With seeds planted much earlier. To sow doubt in Democracy. To herald partisan fervor to the point of calling news fake, proclaiming alt-reality and declaring elections / democracy false. Jan 6th 2021 was but a taste of the full scale war to come.
  • Case in point, "Russia if you are listening".
  • Russians in Trump Tower in 2016.
  • All the times he has chosen Vlad the Butcher over America and our Allies. Still to this very day.
Their fellow Republican Robert Muller investigated this treason. Played soft ball with it. And still they wish him dead. Because these days they only value dogmatic loyalty to the party and its master. Such a will is antithetical to Democracy and so they will come for us too.

Trump cheers the death of civil service, and some Republicans might feign being shocked or aghast at this ghoulish behavior. Once more. As if all the other times in 10 years were not lesson enough. But when it comes down to it, when it really matters their actions speak louder than words. They keep voting for him. For this outcome. Never once did they bother to seize the opportunity to right their wrongs and impeach him. To rid this nation of a MAGA Nazi stain.

Such replies are possible because civil discourse is at an end in America.

I’d even go back all the way to 1987 when the Fairness Doctrine was revoked and blocked by Reagan and Bush Sr. That is what set the seeds for a Newt Gingrich and Fox News, in the giant cluster fuck of right wing bullshit out there for the past 10 years.

What’s particularly crazy about that post right there was that that lady is the editor in chief of The Federalist. Obviously not many people center left to left are fans of that outlet, but that is a level of outrageousness that defies any sense. She will literally look at what Donald Trump said and be like oh that wasn’t repulsive, but what Obama said was. The real Trump Derangement Syndrome.

I do get where you’re coming from and I don’t disagree. There really does seem to be these two alternative worlds; one is the truth more or less with some corruption here and there, but the other is infinite lies and corruption. And there are just this 10pct or so that are ridiculously malleable in their political beliefs and ping pong between parties every 2-4 years. My hope is the absolute dumpster fire of the past 14 months will permanently align these people with the truthful side.

The stakes were quite high in 2024, obviously. But it really gets stratospheric for this year and 2028. I’m not optimistic because in order to make real change (that can’t just be repealed by breaking the filibuster) the Dems will need 60 Senators. And that would need to be sustained, akin to FDR.

If we don’t get something like that then, yeah, not good. My expectation was societal and economic breakdown. Just depends on how many of those cult followers remain in the cult.

I can't imagine how frustrating the work and life-time that Robert Mueller and his team put into that report must have been. To liken it to the stereotypical boss saying on Friday afternoon "I need this report by Monday", and then when it arrives on Monday the boss doesn't even bother to read it for three weeks is probably the understatement of the century, but I wonder if the team knew that it was going to get fundamentally ignored but they felt a duty that it be done properly despite that and despite the abuse they received during the course of the work.

I think you're reading too much into it. Dumbasses have always existed and given half the chance will broadcast their ignorance as far and wide as they can.
Yes but it’s the callousness plus the ludicrousness of the comment to be juxtaposed against Trumps’ expected but appalling remark.

NYC was the biggest party I've ever seen when Trump lost in 2020. When he dies the party will shift the rotational axis of the earth.
