Since the CPUs have been shipping to retailers since Dec., and they are about to drop the embargo on Jan 3rd (later today), and then I hope, showing up at retailers like Newegg shortly thereafter - which one(s) are YOU planning to get, and why?
 
I'm hoping that at least one model of 2C/4T Pentium is included at launch. That's what I'm interested in. (I think that the G4400 Pentium was available at the launch of Skylake, although the G3900 Celeron CPUs didn't show up until six months later.)

I variously want an i3-7350K, and the 2C/4T Pentium, both for both of my Z170 Pro4S boards, to OC (or attempt to BCLK OC the locked KBL, might be tricky with/without updated BIOS), and for both of my ASRock DeskMini mini-STX boxes (which can take KBL CPUs, but can't OC).

The 7350K has pretty-much the highest stock base clock of any 1151 CPU, at 4.2Ghz, which would be nice to have in the DeskMinis. But oh, the price! $177.

I'm hoping that the 2C/4T Pentiums, sitting at around 3.6-3.7Ghz, for $90 or so, will be a better buy.

Looking at grabbing an i7 77000k and a Maximus IX Hero. Don't need it since i already have a 6700k but want it. Current rig will be used as a back up pc for my movies in case my nas dies. Hoping the mobo will be available the day they go up. Wanted a Prime but not enough usb ports.
 
IMO no reason to get anything other than the 7700K, the base frequency over regular 7700 is just too much to pass for the price difference, not to mention resale value.
also the way i see it, i5 is no longer future proof for gaming.

Only 6700K owners should be disappointed, though. And they shouldn't be upgrading to KL unless they need the video capability.

Besides, it looks like it would be hard to be disappointed with the video capabilities of KL.

However, we will still hear a lot of complaining from buyers that KL is just a clock bump. We've already seen that quite often right here, as if no research whatsoever was done.

It's possible Kaby Lake ends up being like Broadwell, only i3s and faster.
 
Was hoping to see these in the wild today. Surprised I havent found them at the usual places like Newegg and Microcenter.

Already picked up 7700K. Nice chip.
 
Pentium G4560, thats a nice one, very respectable gains on the low end for Intel. i whould expect a lot of budget builds with G4560 and GTX1050TI/RX460 4GB.
 
Would love a i7 7700k but with the Christmas season just ending I am short on cash now so I am hoping for the next best thing which is a i3 7350k. Wanting nothing short of 4.8Ghz with a Hyper 212 Evo G1 and really praying to hit 5.0Ghz stable for 24/7 use.

Man i would wait 3 months and see if a zen 4c 8t will not be aprox the same budget as i3 especially as you want a 7700k.
 
I'll probably pick up a 7700K to replace a 6700 (non-K) just for upgrade's sake on the SO's computer.

My main computer is a tiny Silverstone ML08, and upgrading it is a PITA.

Yeah, just checking Newegg, it's 7PM EST, no KBL CPUs found yet. Strange.

Edit: Yeah, the Pentium G4560 looks sweet for the price. 3.5Ghz, 2C/4T, for under $70.
Now to get a couple, and see if they can be BCLK OCed in my Z170 Pro4S, with only the 3.00 BIOS which doesn't support KBL, technically.

Yeah, Amazon's showing the 7700K, which seems typical of the initial offering. If that's all there is, some who might not otherwise spend that much will be tempted into it.

I think SKY OC can still be accessed with bios version 7.
