I don't have anywhere to upload them at the moment. If anyone wants to host them or can tell me where to get some free webspace I'll be happy to provide them.

Props for catching this. I think we'll all be a little smarter the next time we sell a computer or something.

Yea i think this is more common then people think.

I always take pictures of the S/N before I ship anything. I also mark it somewhere that does not stand out. That way if they return it and its missing a small little mark then that also clues me in.

I think I took off a rubber pad once and put my initials. So something like that.

First thing is to get the money out of your paypal account and if you want, change the checking account you have with it so he can't have PP take the funds frmo you.

Then contact ebay and paypal with exactly what happened and see what they do.

I suggest you remove any and all funds attached to that paypal account. If its linked to your bank account, empty that too. Paypal screwed my friend over a couple years back due to a similar instance with an illegaly frozen account yet he was the victim.

You have been scammed, make the first move and dont let the scammer know this until you have filled complaints with his local police dept, ebay and paypal. I would even report this to my bank before paypal tries to screw with the account (if its attached to paypal).

I agree. It may seem mean-spirited, but what the OP described was clearly deliberate. Do NOT let them get away with it...the more scammers who face serious legal trouble for their acts, the fewer scams will take place in the future. Go all-out on this guy.

id remind him what he has done is considered mail fraud and you will take the appropriate steps to inform his local police department of his attempt to commit fraud

Seconded. No need for pleasantries or acceptance of guilt -- if he apologizes just say "thank you for confessing. now I have a solid small claims case."

Unfortunately an easy one to answer

You shipped to an unconfirmed address

All he has to do is file a Significantly Not As Described, show proof that you received the package, and he wins the dispute

Paypal will debit your account for the amount, leaving you with a negative balance. If you don't pay it back, they'll send it to collections

If it makes you feel better though, even if he was confirmed and he shipped you back a box of shoes he'd still win. PP will always side with the buyer :mad;

Besides the NIC, take note of the bottom of the motherboard.

His says FN41 V2.0
Yours says FN41V3.1/FN45V2.0

Along with all the back panel connectors where the #'s are totally off but yeah... Also... Since when did your chipset have a nvidia fan on it?...
