Almost everyone I know has more than three pairs of shoes.
1. Tennis Shoes
2. Sandals
3. Dress Shoes
4. Work boots
5. Hiking boots
6. Skiing boots
7. Cycling shoes

excluding old shoes I can't get rid of because they still fit.

pee standing up is the number one benefit

Unless you're the one who cleans the floor around the toilet. Peeing standing up leads to all kinds of spritzing from the urine stream breaking up into droplets which hit the toilet water in rapid succession.

I remember when my grandpappy bounced me on his knee and told me about when his grandfather first heard this bit when he was serving in the Union forces in the Civil War. Apparently, everyone laughed at the person who brought it up because everyone had heard it back in '23...

Lies! They didn't have email forwards back then! 😉
