Here's a concept...maybe they think that stopping Obama's progressive agenda is best for America. Is this really that hard for you to understand? And yes...they do call it politics....imagine that!

Keep spinning. Some of Obama's agenda is the same as theirs a few years ago. They don't care about good and bad. They don't care about America. They care about hurting Obama however they can.

Yeah...they hate America...that's the ticket! Pathetic.

And they dominated the house, many governorships and state house/senate with nothing more than a platform of "stop obamas out of control growth of government and spending".

This is what the people want and what is best for our country. Stop Obama. Stop him in his tracks before he can do more damage. Spin it all you want but that is the cold hard truth.

How about...lets say cutting defense and other major expenditures and using that money to give back to the people for what they have paid into the ponzi scheme known as SS?

Does that work for you?

Would you also support cutting the ponzi scheme of huge pensions for government workers?

Lol at the people saying "stop Obama's agenda" as if that means anything. Do me a favor and go over to politifact and check out Obama's "agenda" all you like. There you'll see what he has done and what he hasn't.

The only 4 big items on the Obama agenda were as follows.

Health care reform
Pulling out of the war
Cap and Trade
Shutting down Guantanamo

He's accomplished one out of the 4. One had to compromise on, the cap and trade, and the other two are stuff even Repubs have been promising for quite some time. Are you trying to tell me now that the Repubs have office they do everything in their power now to stop his agenda at ending the war and shutting down Guantanamo? LOL!

Healthcare reform is not going anywhere any time soon. It may get tweaked a bit, but it is not going anywhere. I hope it gets tweaked though. Not sure if it will get tweaked the way I like it though.

Again, the point I was making was several fold.

1) the Repubs had a chance to win both House and Senate. Many polls at one point showed that they would. Instead they got control of only the House.

2) The Dems had 256 seats before the election and the Repubs as of now only have 239. Big swing yes, but it doesn't top what the Dems had previously.

3) This whole crap about stopping the agenda and putting things in deadlock is also crap. There was deadlock before with the Dems in control as the Repubs filibustered everything. And the things Obama has left to do that he promised are not things the Repubs are going to stop at this point. It's just more rhetoric and smoke being blown up our asses by the collective shills.

Now the state controls in various places is a big deal to some extent if you are waving around your red or blue flag. Personally it doesn't matter to me because I live in one state only so I only care about my state in that regards. As far as other places, I don't live in those states so I really don't care about how they go about their business. The only thing that affects me is the Federal and Texas government. Speaking of Texas, my biggest gripe is the Texas State of Education Board. Mercer the creationist nut is still on it. Some Repubs being elected here in Texas I was happy over. Some not so much like Mercer.

This is the largest republican swing in 70 years. We The People, taking it back, stopping tyranny in it's tracks!
you meant the Tea party swing, Let me know when circus start to watch country club republicans fighting the tea beggers.

Did a little poking aorund, and came up with: http://www.downsizinggovernment.org/

3rd Party site - Clearly have an agenda (read: whether you agree or not is a completely different story), but there are some interesting graphics in the lower/right. According to these guys, DOD and SS are roughly equal in cost/spending.
That's all well and good, but I suspect there is a huge difference between what SS costs and what it would cost to actually refund what everyone has paid into the system.

Health care reform

Shoved insurance regulations through. Check.
Pulling out of the war

He was stuck with that so there was no getting out quickly.

Cap and Trade

No one even gets why that's there besides the talking points.
Shutting down Guantanamo

He's all over that. Bush was a neophyte when it comes to the Patriot act. He embraces it.

Not enough gridlock.

BTW, I don't like Republicans. This is the perfect situation for the people but obviously not for the partisan.

Show me the many polls showing a Republican takeover of the Senate.

He won't find one. Because 33% plus a few were up for election it was a longshot to get the senate.

I'm liking the current line of thinking however that not taking the senate could turn out to be good for republicans. Keep passing bills listening to the will of the people, the senate votes them down and republicans can tell folks "we did what you wanted, but the dems and Obama blocked it in the senate."

Use the tools of your enemy against them.

"A chastened President Barack Obama signaled a new willingness to yield to Republican demands on tax cuts and jettisoned a key energy priority on Wednesday, less than 24 hours after he and fellow Democrats absorbed election losses so severe he called them a shellacking."

OP, you've been presented with an overwhelming amount of proof disproving your original rant. If you cannot accept the facts ... you fit the description of a troll.

I've never understood why states sabotage themselves like that. Voting in a newbie puts you waaayyy down on the influence list in Congress. I understand that "We the People" need to "Take Our Country Back" (TM), but don't people realize another state is going to get the $$ and jobs that they're not?

That's why Oregon sent our whole delegation back. Unless an individual personally does a bad job, I don't see why they should be booted solely based on their party (which seemed the case yesterday).

Oh well.

When you're in a rage against tyranny, thinking is not an option. Not sure how tyranny of the wealthy and corporations is better than the big bad ole government.

You're 100% correct. Which is why, IMO, we need term limits so that tough decisions CAN be made. Right now, there is no real incentive for a politician to make a really tough, unpopular decision, as it could cost them re-election. They care more about their jobs than serving the country.

If we had term limits, on the other hand, maybe the fear of losing their jobs would pass and the right decisions could be made.

THANK YOU. This is something the people need to vote on, not a measure put up in congress.

So that's why you vote third party, right? No, you're just another pathetic Democrat cheerleader.

and that kind of thinking is ignorant and egregious. those people hold a seat to make decisions for the PEOPLE regardless of party relations. Once you lose sight of that you should leave your seat because you are doing your country and the people a dis-service.

2) The Dems had 256 seats before the election and the Repubs as of now only have 239. Big swing yes, but it doesn't top what the Dems had previously.
The Democrats currently have 185 seats.

Do you know the last time they had less than 200 seats??? 1946

I'd say this was a major ass kicking.

So that's why you vote third party, right? No, you're just another pathetic Democrat cheerleader.

What's funny is that 3rd parties have done even less for the country than either of the two major ones. You'd have to be pretty misinformed to vote for any 3rd party since none of them have impressive track records. Hell, any track record period, lol.

Was that an attempt at being witty?

Next you'll be claiming something outrageous like like we don't have a colony on Mars because no human has ever been there.

^ Meh, seems like you're bitching out of admitting 3rd parties haven't done shit for the country every time they've held major office. Or maybe what you're really saying is that 3rd parties would be different.
