Continueing the hate.

Want Bose quality? Take Bose system you like and spend half the amount on anything else.

I'm just gonna pop in and say that my first car, a 1987 Bonneville, had Bose speakers, and to my ears, they sounded great. Were they crisp and bright and clear? No, but they had punch and were definitely better than most car stereos. As for me, I loved them. I'm not going to say they were the best speakers ever, but they were better than average, cheapy speakers and sounded very full and rich to me. So :p

Bose just sucks all around. here is an example.

Bose ANR (anti-noise reduction) Avaition headset sells for $1,000

a ANR headset by David & Clark are around $600

the D&C are MUCH Better in my humble opinion.

Coporaterecreation summed up how i feel. I use that to describe bose speakers all the time.

They arn't bad persya, just you can get Sooo much better for the amount of money you'd invest into them.

They're a product of marketing not quality. For the same price you can get much better systems.

I have both the Clark and the Bose NR headsets: the Bose (IMHO) is a much better set. The Clark set relies much more on physical isolation (heavier / bulkier).

The Bose are smaller and lighter (for whatever that's worth to you) and do a better job (IMHO) at active noise reduction than the Clarks. I like the Clarks, I just like the Bose better.

I was at the Bose store at the Mall of America yesterday and listened to the best headphones they had on display (some $300 noise cancelling cans). Needless to say, I was surprised! My $70 Grado SR60s are head-and-freaking-shoulders above those Bose headphones in sound quality. The goober employee comes up to me after I listen to the Bose cans and says, "Sound pretty good don't they?" I just glared at him and said "No, they don't. My Grados kick the $hit out of those things" and walked out.

Moral of the story: research your purchases. It really works well.
