Anyone have a favorite armored circlet mod? I'd like to see my follower's face instead of a goofy dwarf helmet when I'm talking to her.

(I know Nexus has some, but I'm curious if anyone here uses one and likes it.)

Do you actually explore with followers? I always found them to be a pain in the ass. I just leave my housecarls at home 🙂.

You need to have the followers; how else are you going to carry all your loot? I want a mod that renames Lydia "Pack Mule."

The Convenient Horses mod, of course 🙂. You can set the horse faction so that they neither attack nor are attacked. Unlike followers, who will shout "Leroy Jenkins" and dive in at the worst moment.

See I am the opposite. I will not use horses. Ever. But I am a self-confessed follower addict in need of a twelve-step program. I have up to a dozen following me at any time, with another 30 or so stationed in Fort Dawnguard (my home is your home mod). I dress them up in slutty clothes and use some dubious animation mods on them. Can't do that with horses...

For followers you can use Amazing Follower Tweaks.

Also look at the Paarthumax Dilemma and survival mods like Imps More Complex Needs and Frostfall.

Anyone have a list of 10-15 essential mods (gameplay, interface, graphics, etc.)? I've got about 40-50 mods and after switching to a 4k monitor my framerates have dropped down in to the 20's in some sections. I really want to keep playing but I cringe when I think of troubleshooting all those mods. I'm thinking it will be easier to go with a few mods and just enjoy the game.

Gameplay mods are usually not going to slow the game down at all. So use as many of those as you want. Same with interface mods.

Is the "Skyrim High Resolution Texture Pack" on steam worth using? I already played through Skyrim and most DLC, but thought I might play again if I can get things to look a bit different. I imagine I have to begin game again to mod it and forget using old saves

I would for sure download the Official High Resolution Texture Pack. It is compatible with other mods and if you ever feel the need to disable them you can do so without any problems.

anyone know of a mod that fixes the animals that bounce and twitch and sometimes fly into the sky?

Other problem is walk into a house and everything sitting on tables and shelves just starts flying around the entire place. Do I have a corrupt install or something or is this normal game bugs still?

I just started playing. I'm in the first town. I was going to save and quit for the night and I noticed "General Stats". Under the crime section, it says my largest bounty and total lifetime bounty are 5. How did that happen? I haven't done anything criminal. Is there a console command to fix that?

You probably picked up something you shouldn't have. It's not that hard to do.

Saw a video featuring the Open Cities mod last night... and now I have to have it. Hopefully it won't bother my current save game or I might have to restart. Where does it end?

Ummm yah

You need to start a new game any time you install new mods especially with any mod like open cities which modifies the basic world structure of the Skyrim gameworld.

Yeah that's pretty much my assumption too. I wish I had known about it but opencities looks too cool to pass up.

I use Skyrim Ultra HD Texture Pack-35507-1-6 from Nexus, it has alot of 1080p textures and higher in it. It's also 1.5 gigs.

I'm just using the stock 2k textures from the DLC texture pack. I only have 2GB of VRAM on my GTX-660 so I am not sure how it will peform with higher res textures.

You can use a lot of textures with 2 GB of VRAM. However you do have to be careful as I am already using everything my Asus 270X Direct-Cu 2 can throw out without major overclocking. I would suggest using lots of 1K or 2K textures instead of only very few 2K or 4K textures. Keep in mind I am also using ENB and ELFX so those also bring down my framerate.

Did you pick up one of the 28" Samsungs? Are you still running an ENB, also have you figured out how to fix CFX? I could probably put together a decent list, but I think a good place to start is looking is the Realvison ENB recommend mods.

Yup, I ended getting the Samsung. Gorgeous graphics with the installed mods but it slows down too much to be playable.

Still running the Realvision ENB and suggested mods. I haven't found a good fix for Crossfire and ENB yet. Tried a few different things (new 3D profile in CCC, borderless window, etc.) but no luck so far. If I could get Crossfire to work it would solve my problem, but nothing has worked so far.

Maybe I'll try turning off the graphics mods one by one (if Skyrim will allow that with my saved games) and see if I can figure out the issue. Thanks for the help.

I'm running Realvision ENB and the Realistic Lighting Overhaul mod. So far the 660 chugs right along in ultra.

I'm getting ready to try opencities. I'm actually a little hopeful it won't trash my save. The save files are essentially esps that contain just the delta between the current world and the one in the esm. Since nothing my char has done has changed the location or condition of any buildings I suppose it might just work. The problem is I might never know its messed up until way later, so I should probably just restart.
