I recommend you install and uninstall SkyUI with a mod manager. That way it doesnt permanently mess up your game.

If you use a mod manager its going to require the Script Extender installed first, before SkyUI.

If you just download the zip and overwrite files directly you wont need the extender. But thats not a risk I would take.

SkyUI requires SKSE, which is probably why Shorty mentioned it.

Yes. I said if you don't mod, you don't need it, SkyUI is still a mod :)

That being said, if you *are* going to mod (you should), I highly suggest using Mod Organizer rather than Wrye or NMM.

Outside of bashed patches (not necessary anymore), Mod Organizer does everything better.

Well I thought that Wrye Bash was basically the holy grail when it came to modding and just as complex and hard to learn as well.

It was for Oblivion, most definitely, it's uses in Skyrim are more limited (and exceeded by TES5Edit scripts).

You treated them separately, which is why I pointed out that they were probably mentioned together for a reason. It's redundant to say you don't need a mod if you're not going to mod.

I decided to lose the ENB for awhile. I can't get used to playing @ 40-45 fps. The game still looks pretty good without it. I could go back to RCRN, but don't feel the need yet. I could disable AO and DOF in my ENB, but then there is little point of the ENB. Playing Skyrim at 96 fps is a incredibly smooth experience. It does dip to the 60's at times, but it's still a lot more enjoyable.

Is there a way to get Skyrim to utilise SLI, especially with mods installed? Seems to get worse the more GPU's I throw at it. Or does Crossfire work better?

How hard is Mod Organizer to learn if I am intending to switch over from the Nexus Mod Manager?
IMO Mod managers are not that difficult to learn...I am fairly new to modding, and I found that programs like Wrye Bash and Tes5edit are a lot more complex than mod managers. However, I am referring to modding Oblivian. Have used NMM and OMM.

How many mods are you using? Did you use S.T.E.P. (NEXUS)? I have been debating using ENB's, but probably won't (except maybe RCRN). Running 7870 Hawk and not sure it will handle ENB plus mods. CPU OC to 3.4 ghz.

So far Realvision doesn't seem to be causing any huge issues. I do get an occasional ctd when saving or zoning. Pretty rare at the moment, and I am not sure which of the 30+ mods to attribute it to. I ran LOOT to optimize the load order, but I haven't installed any of the memory optimizing mods. Most of them seem to sport scary disclaimers :).

My 270X can deal with Project ENB, COT, ELFX, SFO, and many texture packs. I am considering dropping some of my texture packs down from 2K to 1K so that I can get less stuttering and also add some more texture packs like character and equipment texture mods.

Over 75 mods I believe, and yes I use the NMM. A lot of which are graphical and texture mods. If I played the game at 1080p, I could get away with using an ENB and get decent framerates, maybe in the 50-60 range. Since I am gaming at 1440p using an ENB really puts a hurt on my videocard.

The immersion mods I'm using now, frostfall, wet and cold, ineeds, climates of tamriel + supreme storms, hunterborn, interesting npcs, immersive patrols, and the immersive armor and weapons mods have completely transformed the game. I'm honestly having twice as much fun as I ever did on my first playthrough a couple of years ago.

Frostfall, iNeeds, and climates/storms in particular are freaking awesome. You can no longer just run around knocking off quests. You have to plan your travels, especially in the north. I got caught in a blizzard in Labrynthian tonight, had to spend two days and almost ran out of firewood. Went out at 3 AM to cut more and almost froze to death. Awesome :).

Then if you are enjoying those mods that much then you need to add Requiem to that mix. You have to plan most fighting even sometimes against mudcrabs and often it makes much more sense to just run away. For those old school RPG fans I am sure would enjoy the realistic and dangerous characteristics of fighting that actually make you decide if you want to fight, talk, pay up, or run away.
