Yep, can't have deductions from an illegal venture.

Lets say all businesses couldn't claim any deductions. I buy a laptop from Toshiba for $100 to resell. I want to charge a modest $200 since $100% margin in an any business is excellent. Do I get to take $100 home in profit? Nope. That $200 I take in is taxed at 39% Fed and up to 11% State. Baring any other taxes I might actually lose $2, on a 100% markup. I still haven't paid any utilities, employees or anything else. A lot of businesses work off a LOT tighter margins with deductions, so you can expect prices to atleast triple.

Oh, haven't you heard? The political spectrum is a lie. It's actually a coin. One side is Democratic (read Capitalistic) and the other is Commie (read Socialistic). ^_^

Venezuela is a military dictatorship with wealthy government elites owning EVERYTHING and everybody else getting crumbs.

Here, in the US, we have a corporate plutocracy where wealthy elites own almost everything.

Iceland?? Really? Well there's a good comparison. Lets compare a country with a population barely 20% more than all of the city Buffalo. Denmark, Switzerland each have less than the population of NY City and only Austria ties it. So good comparison.

If you are a robot, words like socialism will trigger autonomic reactions. You may feel a sudden rage or fear that somebody is going to take something from you, that you will be sucked down some black funnel and become a member socially contemptible class, etc. Robots are programmed to react to words by brainwashing. It's really pathetic to be like that, to be only a primitive reaction like a worm that shies away from light, with no override mechanism that allows real thinking to take place. There are so so many words like this that amount to BOO for the mentally disabled, folk who walk though life on auto-pilot.
 
You can cheat and rob people in capitalism, socialism or communism. Greed and power can cause bad things to happen. The system of government does not stop the abuse of power. In some asain countries they have dumps and they dont bother to even cover their garbage. Then their bottles and other things wash out to sea. So I dont see how socialism or communism is any kind of improvement. It is men that do evil, not their philosophy.

i think its intended purpose was to drive the economy higher then any other country in the world- and the hell with anyone who gets trampled on in the process. we had an urge to be on top, and it got us there, financially speaking anyway...
 
I'll insult capitalism. Capitalism is awful. It's just the least awful system we know of, once some of its worst aspects are alleviated by regulation, charity, and community.

Capitalism works and socialism doesn't. If you don't like Capitalism even though you're benefiting from it right now then feel free to move to a socialist country.
