i started this job last week (as some of you may know, since i was trying to find out how to quit my old job without burning any bridges). they have a real lax set of rules -- with the exception of electronic communications.
basically, i had to sign off on an agreement that i cannot use IM for any personal correspondence. we use yahoo messenger internally but can only IM each other to share URLs or if a coworker is on the phone and we're talking about the conversation. everything is logged. everything is watched (literally). you can't surf the internet to browse personal pages and you cannot use personal email.
so ... AT is out of the question, which is why i post in the evenings. regardless of my posting time, i'm posting more often than i used to in the past few months... but this is why you'll never see me during business hours 😛
has anyone heard of such a policy? how have you survived? 😛
