we already posted proof that in most states for purpose of sexual consent she is legal.
and we established that if she was of the proper age that that age gap is fairly small.
we also established that unless the parents can proove hes banging her even if in an 17 or 18 state that dating her is legal as well.

I've had a friend like this, and I just couldn't find any reason to stay friends with him. It's disgusting and just plain wrong for someone as immature as a high school girl. There's just such a huge difference between HS and college, college an graduation, graduation and having a job, and I am sure there's more out there but damn that's just wrong. Just to let you know, a few years ago after we had not spoken for years I saw his name in the paper in regards to child molestation charges, etc. It's just a bad thing waiting to go worse...
You don't hear about it because the father's are intelligent about it........A man who doesn't think a 25yo sexual predator should be hanging around his 16yo daughter has at least basic intelligence......
You posted proof that in "most states" (yes slightly, I counted 30) that the age of consent is 16. 2 of those states that have 16 as the age of consent require the other party to not exceed a certain age gap. The age gap at that age is definately not small...... 25 and 16? The amount of maturing between 16 and 25 is enormous.......even 16 and 18 is big..........
And while it may be legal- that doesn't make it right........
The parents don't have much to prove- they only have to take her to be checked on....sure the 16yo may be able to deny it but most 16yo's are under their parents thumb and when strongly pressured by their parents will cave in and admit it to avoid "punishment"......either that or he'll wrong her somehow and she'll go after him for it........

Well we agree then----if the parents are involved (which we haven't established and I doubt)----and if the 2 are really in love (which I also doubt)----I also wouldn't see anything wrong with it............At 16 she may be mature enough to handle the relationship, but if my money were on the line I would venture she is not.......
Also you point out that most 16 yo's aren't virgins.....your absolutely right.....however, I think they could find DNA evidence- it doesn't take much to realize when your daughter has been out and when would be the time to take her in.........I don't see anything wrong with 16 & 19 or even 20 at a stretch but 25 is too old........Again I'm sure there are exceptions to the rule.........try to remember that just because you may have been in a similiar relationship at that age doesn't mean that the situation is the same or even similiar........

However, just because it worked out for you and you proved your friends wrong doesn't mean that will always be the case- don't you think that maybe they thought it was wrong because in many cases it is the older party taking advantage?
Based on your successful marriage I'm sure that wasn't the case in your situation but just because you had a similiar experience doesn't mean you have to support everyone who is doing what you did.....I would guess your experience was the exception- not the norm.......
I think the point is that what is going on may in fact be a healthy relationship. However, based on the limited knowledge we have it would not be fair to crucify it or support it. If just using facts though, it seems to me there is a chance a crime is being commited and the OP may want to learn more about this situation so he can look at who he's hanging around with as a friend......
This is somewhat of a loaded topic, but personally I do not see a big deal. Older men have always sought relationships with younger women. It's actually completely legal as long as there is no sex involved.
One advantage I see to dating a 16 year old is they have literally no baggage and arent 'bitter' at the world because of all the past men who have hurt them in relationships. She might have that youthful 'zest for life' that can just make him happy. I wouldnt be too quick to judge.

good response and I'll buy that... my point was only that nothing these days is so black and white.. and there are grey areas... its funny to me that alot of people imeediatly said hang em.. but these are also the same people that if they were 30ish and a hot low 20s girl wanted them.. 90% woulda hit it without batting an eyelash..

I don't see anything wrong with it personally. And I agree with the statement regarding our "prude" attitude in America. Its ashame so many people think he is a pedophile or something. Women at 16 may have lack of sense, but no more so then they do at 18, or even older. In fact, at 16 they may (very rare but still) have more sense since it seems like women have more sex and party harder the older they get, hitting their peak anywhere from 21-28
the point is not necessarily the age gap but simply the age of the youngest party in the relationship.

If it were my duaghter , I would show up at his place with the law or he would have an accident.

i posted this same thing long ways up the thread they dont listen... and most are hypocrits.. I guanantee 90% of them would be or will be guilty of the same age gap in the future..
Yes by law... read the post... we already posted a matrix of states that 16 os Age of consent.. in fact the majority of states is 16 now..
Then it shouldn't matter if he calls the police. You should encourage him to call the police so they can tell him to mind his own business.
