Where I live (just outside of NYC), I'm SURROUNDED by Indians.

This is not an exaggeration. Every morning commute in the elevator, you can bet your ass 5 out of 8 people will be Indian. They are EVERYWHERE. Indian toddlers in stroller, Indian newly weds, Indian old moms, Indian working professionals, omg.

I even asked one of the Indian guy, why do you all live in this area? They just shrugged. They even VISIT each other between floors. Who the hell does that in the city?

What is the problem you ask? Because the hallways smells like amazingly delicious Indian cuisine EVERYTIME. I absolutely love Indian food, and this... tandoori grill smell and savory curry smell has penetrated into my whole apartment.

Oh my god I'm hungry. The scent is most offending to my appetite on weekends.

Good for you. I am also surrounded by indians. Unfortunately I am of the opinion that indian cuisine smells like burnt feces.

Take it as a blessing. Alot of immigrant neighborhoods end up being dumps with rampant drugs/crime and wild out of control kids running around causing problems. In my experience, Indians seem to have a little more class, s sense of honor and family values that prevent some of the behavior normally seen in these type of neighborhoods.
