I don't know if this is racist, but I actually love most of the Indian folks I meet. I usually have very good relations with Asian friends. I think Pakistani folks are genetically basically the same, yet I've only had one friend from there, most of them have been difficult for me to get along with.

There's something similar with black folks, I have had and do have many black friends, but I seem to get along easier with African immigrants than many that were born here in the states.

I've only known a few Pakistani people and at least the ones I've known are pretty chill. Guy next to me at work is a super quiet Pakistani guy but a java god and he always seems happy to help when we rely on his experience

I think it's cool minorities have their own enclaves, so long as there are areas where they also interact and live with everyone else. Which is why NYC (and many other cities in the U.S.) is awesome, because there are plenty of "little" versions of immigrants' mother countries, but there are also plenty of mixed neighborhoods where you'll find white, black, hispanic/latino, asian, jamaican, italian, etc people all living and working together.

i think most major urban areas are like this.

i grew up in a really mixed town, and live and have lived in some very mixed areas. i dont think i'd ever want it any other way. my grandma came to this country to a town that wasnt comfortably all chinese or anything, but i suppose it made us melt in faster . i feel like the kids who grow up in the towns that are decidedly one race miss out . hell i know poeple who grow up in those little enclaves their whole lives like say the san gabriel valley in los angeles for chinese people and they end up with all these stereotypes about say black people or white people.

....... What is the problem you ask? Because the hallways smells like amazingly delicious Indian cuisine EVERYTIME. I absolutely love Indian food, and this... tandoori grill smell and savory curry smell has penetrated into my whole apartment.

Oh my god I'm hungry. The scent is most offending to my appetite on weekends.

You're lucky you like the smell. The ones who don't like it probably feel like they got mustard gassed passing the hallways. There is such a thing as smell pollution.

I have heard a lot about this Brampton place and its really bad where the families are packing in 15-20 people in there houses with 5 cars in the driveway, they also dont take care of there houses and refuse to dress normal or use toilet paper
