Discord is... well it's giving me a headache looking at it! Maybe it's because I'm on a mobile but is it supposed to look like that? It's like one thread of everything!

-Yeah, it's more like an eternal chat rather than a proper forum.

You can make "threads" with specific users but that's more like a private chat than a proper forum format.

It's like Trump.. people can't find perfection so they find apathy and nothing happens and the death of good stuff is all but certain. I suppose that'll happen here too.. can't agree on a good option so we'll just fragment.. bluesky might not be perfect but it should at least allow most of us to stay together and independent.

At least till we can find a common forum. I think I'll send out my email via PM to a few members today just incase it shuts down today.

Over the past 2 decades this forum has carved out a safe space for people. It's fitting that Bluesky would become that new safe space if these forums were to cease existing.

Going to another forum is not an option. The population carve out remaining on these forums would not be tolerated elsewhere.

It's good that you're thinking about creating safe space 2 as a backup. I'd hate to think about the state of minds if safe space 1 suddenly disappeared.

Free advice: Chillax and hang with us my dude. :beercheers: Most of us here are not political, and some of us have been on other boards for decades. Most are gone now :weary: Kyle can suck it, no way I'd hang at H now. 2CPU, OG nforcersHQ, and Tech Report, were some of my favorite haunts BITD.

Bluesky (&Twitter) is 100% political. Discord was the best option.

You are right. I found it chaotic, too overwhelming, the chat type of UI somehow encourages people to yammer more than they otherwise would and at least when I tried it, it was always a pain to login.

Yea but you have to set it.

The reality is if AT Forums are closed most of members are simply going to stop. Then whoever is left will eventually fade away too. I've seen it before.

Just share which forums you frequent and your handle if it's different from the one here so we can stalk you if we miss you after AT forums are gone.

@igor_kavinski , join the discord if you can. Yes discord is horrible but all the other sites won’t be as close as this forum is and its community is.

Also discord is better on the desktop than mobile, imo
 
I joined reddit and one of the discords. I don't post a lot, but I enjoy reading different topics. I think reddit is the closest to a forum except another forum. Discord always goes into chat type conversation as is designed for that. But I will follow where the community decides. Just in case these forums go tits up, left some clues as to where the gang settles.
