so im trying my first guinness ever

and im going to count up the taste of ass in this bottle to me having a cold, and wait a few nights before i have some more, maybe try it when i make some pizza later this week if im feeling better.

i asked a few people
looked around atot
a number of people seemed to like guiness, i though, why not give it a try? even my brother, who usually doesnt like alcohol to begin with (hes a stoner) and is generally very picky about what he eats and drinks, said he loves guiness over pretty much any other drink hes had except for "a *bottle* of lambrusco" if hes in the mood for some wine.

but, i say, meh. anything else even worth trying if i end up *still* thinking this is awful? because im not seeing the taste improve too much, even without a cold.

Corona is a very light and easy-drinking beer (perhaps the opposite of Guiness). Throw a lime in there, tip it over with your thumb on top (to spread the lime around) and drink'er up.

 my favorite Soooo good in a frosted glass. Or some Duvel. Now that's good sh!t!

If you don't like it, don't let it ruine your thoughts on beer. Guiness isn't for everyone, people either love it or hate it

A quality Oatmeal, Chocolate, or Uncommon stout > Guinness.

It's good. But after you've had stouts with real flavor and character, you'll realize that Guinness is pretty flat and bland.

i would describe a saltine as bland and cheerily takeone right about now, this has a distinct taste that i would rank up there beside a merlot as "one of the least enjoyable things to imbibe"

i didnt even complain this much about a smirnoff, and that stuff is lousy.

meh, suggestions for these....whatevers youd reccomend that i could pick up most anywhere?

ill give a few other things a try before i discount beers completely, but i figured i had to start somewhere, and i knew if i didnt like it my brother that lives with me would take it.

heineken > * (for beer)

i'm not a huge beer drinker by any means, however I can crush some heinekens. I like how they are stronger than typical beer and I can feel a buzz quicker with Heinekens. When I go out now, I typically pre-game with liquor at my house or friends house and then just buy heinekens at the bar/club/lounge all night to keep my same buzz going.

works great and its cheaper than gettin capn/jack and cokes all night, and i don't get wasted, just good drunk.

if you still dont like guinness after the next taste test, pour half of it into a glass and then dump a jameson whiskey shot in the glass and chug it all down.

Ahem, half Bailey's and half Jameson for the proper carbomb 🙂

Some people just aren't into beer.

And some people are beer connoisseur's, while others are simply beer consumers. Some drink beer out of habit and for the effects, others drink it for the flavor.

Most people don't directly make the leap to drinking beer for the flavor. It's a long process of getting your binge drinking out of yoru system in college, finding out what you like, and having more money to spend on a couple six packs of quality beer than a keg of Keystone light.

It's a lot like math. You don't hop directly into doing complex things like calculus. You start out with simple things like addition and subtraction and build on it.

In the case of beer, you start out with a Busch light that somebody throws at you at a party in high school and slowly work your way up to more complex and sophisticated brews.

Guinness just has the marketing and history to push it. If it didn't have that, it would be nothing more than an average stout. You don't tell people you are drinking a stout...you're drinking a Guinness damnit!
