i think i'm going to start my treak into vegetariansism by eating more vegetables along with my meats. that way i'll get used to eating veggies on a regular basis. then i can begin weening myself off meats while increasing my vegetables

thanks for the support :), i'll try not to become a zealot :p

I'm a 5th level vegan. I don't eat anything that casts a shadow.

I don't want to read through three pages to find out if someone has said it or not, but AFAIK, being kosher doesn't mean that an animal is slaughtered in a humane way or any really different way, it only means that they don't use the same machinery for other animals.

if humans were mostly vegans and some fringe element decided to kill animals for food would you be saying the same thing?

This is reality. Living things kill other living things for food. Do you think all the predators in the wild should suddenly become vegetarians? Humans and our ancestors have been eating meat for millions of years. Chimps still hunt and eat meat.

And yes, war will be around for a long time to come. All living things on this world have a sense of territory and will fight to protect it or take it from someone else.

i am not a strict vegeterian, but prefer eating more veggies for their taste, cheaper price, ease of cooking and healthier merits. while i dont think there is anything wrong with moderate meat intake, you dont have to include meat in your diet to make it nutritiously complete. if professional atheletes can perform well without eating meat, i dont see why we couldnt do the same. we could eat more fish tho, some polyunsaturated fat is good to have.

I agree. Fish is the ideal meat, well nutritionally and ethically wise. First of all, fish are probably a lot dumber than cows and definitely pigs, and they are all very lean and healthy. They contain the most efficient protein out of all the meat groups. They are no doubt the healthiest. The Japanese are living proof. Their diet mostly contains very low fat fish, raw or pan fried. They eat lots of rice and vegetables. The result, they have the longest life span compared to any culture on earth, and they are able to stay in shape without effort.

Just think of all the poor defenseless plants that will die just because of your shortsighted decision...

I never commented onyour position, so dont give me "this is reality" bullshit. Im just saying you have a retarded sense of reasoning.

This is reality, do what you want, but you should be able to defend your actions with resonable logic.
