corect. many people just really are oblivious or don't careOriginally posted by: Injury
I think your mistake was assuming that people generally give a crap.
During the rush hour? only self-centered assholes and morons drive dangerously in traffic. :thumbsdown:Originally posted by: Hammer
i hate it when people hold up traffic like this during morning rush hour. just because you're an unemployed piece of sh1t doesn't mean you have to slow down people with paying jobs.
When YOU [plural you] pay my tickets and insurance, i'll drive fasterOriginally posted by: Argo

so its your right to set the speed for everyone else on the road. stop being iconsiderate for two seconds and move over and let them pass.
You misunderstood me. My point was that if I'm doing 70 in 55 zone I'm already passing a bunch of cars. Now if you want to be passing those cars at 80 mph, well too bad I'm not risking getting a ticket just so that you could go 10 mph faster.
On the other hand if there are no other cars on the freeway then what's the big deal, you could just go around. I always pass cars like that on the right, not a biggy. My only beef is when the cars in the left lane are doing the same speed as the ones in the right, thus holding up traffic behind them.
IF i am clearly passing someone on the left and someone else pulls right up on my bumper wanting me to go [even] faster - they are TAILGAITING - about the most dangerous thing anyone can do . . . at thet point, IMO, they can go to hell. :|
are you one of those people that drives .5 mph more than the car they are trying to pass? if you are. DIE.
No . . . did you read my post . . . try again i bolded it just for you
since you probably won'rt find it, i'll duplicate it here:
"IF i am clearly passing someone on the left . . . "
and if you are one of "those" impatient tailgaiters YOU can go to hell.
even +1/2 mile per hour only will pass another car in about a minute . . . UNfortunately, there are many drivers in the fast lane that will try to MATCH the speed of the car they are "passing" . . . and of course, there are drivers on the RIGHT that will deliberately SPEED-UP so the driver on the left can't pass.![]()
A MINUTE TO PASS?????? ARE YOU OUTOF YOUR FREAKING MIND?????
You evidently are a freaking impatient jerk.
i gave an EXAMPLE . . . you said +1/2 mph . . . i just did a rough calculation of 'how long' . . . i usually pass much more quickly . . .i.e. "clearly passing" [usually +5 mph the car on the right]
and when YOU pay my tickets and insurence i'll risk a ticket to go even faster.
you have no right to endanger others by tailgaiting [period]
Just realize the type of driver you are, and stay right. Let the fast drivers by. It really isn't that difficult.
Just realize that you have NO RIGHT to demand someone that is already passing go faster. :|
You can take your own advice . . . "DIE"

The road between Vegas and LA is also the most dsangerous in the country . . . more deaths per mile . . . and the cops ARE cracking down on "just 80 mph" according to recent national news.Originally posted by: JulesMaximus

How much over the speed limit do you have to be going on a freeway in LA before you are likely to be ticketed? How well do cops patrol the freeways there? I've never driven in LA before.
depends on where you drive. the drive between LA and Vegas is supposed to have the highest average speed in the country.
Yeah, when you get out near Palm Springs the speed limit is 75mph. You can easily do 80mph out there without worrying about being ticketed.
In Los Angeles the speed limit on the freeways is 65mph. You will never be pulled over for doing 70 in a 65 zone. Some areas (San Clemente) will set up speed traps and they will pull you over for 10-15mph over (I usually keep it around 70-72mph through there).
75-80 is usually going with the flow of traffic or slightly faster than the flow in most areas but, depending on the car you are driving, you may never get pulled over for driving 80mph on L.A. freeways. I was in my wife's 2003 Nissan Maxima (it is silver, no illegal tints, registration current, front and rear plate).
I-10 to PS is 70 MPH, not 75 . . . . i drive it every day . . . cops are also starting to pull people over for "only 80 mph"
