I just don't get the appeal. I've watched some videos of what you can do and it's very underwhelming. Am I missing something?
You're not supposed to actually watch it. It's supposed to just give your hands something to do to keep your subconscious preoccupied. My friends who "need" them don't even take them out of their pockets most of the time.

When I watch TV I just don't sit there. I am on my iPad visiting here or Calguns. But when I am done I need to do something with my hands. I have a bunch of tiny magnetic cubes that I put into various shapes.

The 3 spinners I bought let me put the cubes down. I put a drop of oil on the bearings and they really spin. I have the following coming.

Wtf back in my days we spin pencils and pens. And expect chaulk to be thrown at you. By the teacher no less.

Just pens & pencils? We spin books too!

And expect chalkboard eraser in addition to chalks.

Yeah, books, notebooks, board you put below the sheet you are wriing on. Don't recall ever seeing chalkboard eraser being thrown at a student. The teacher would just beat us up with rattan.

Huh? There is a bajillion more things to do now a days than years ago.
When we were young it would be various hand held video games or Nintendo. Now kids are overly obsessed with screens so they are very limited in most households. So give me ideas about what 8 year olds can do at home that mine haven't even discovered on their own. Thankful the twins have each other and not like most families begging for playdates. But nothing lasts for more than 20 minutes other than video games and it's not an ADD problem, it's a not-that-fun problem.

I bought a few. Not impressed. Where's the battery rechargeable Bluetooth Alexa remote controlled version? I'm too lazy to spin it, with my own hands.
Seriously. What is this manual labor bullsh**.

I was looking at getting one after finding one and playing with it (left it where I found it in case someone came back). But there are so many different kinds. Plus I figured the novelty would wear off pretty quickly and I've have to throw it in an already overstuffed drawer.

Jeez, it's about the simplest thing in the world to manufacture. An off the shelf bearing and a plastic shell, and they couldn't get it right? What a waste.

ROFL. Oh I bet they need them. How did they make it through the day before those stupid worthless things were invented? God they must've been in constant misery! I gotta say though, props to whoever originally came out with these. Dude is probably wiping his pooper with $100 bills and laughing.
