So I may be having dinner with Ashcroft...

So my school has the former AG coming on a lecture tour and a few students get to have dinner with him (I'm assuming for some random discussions).

My initial idea was that it might be the only time I'd be allowed that close to a neocon without the secret service jumping me, so statement making is definitely a possibility.

Anyone have links to good shirts I could wear, signs I could bring, or just any comments in general you'd like to see a college student tell him or questions to ask him?

dress profesionally and chat him up. Making some stupid half-baked protest is a LOT less important than trying to make a hihg end contact when you get out of college and start looking for a job.

Wear a goatse t-shirt... and if he asks what it is, tell him to google it when he has time.

Be polite. Don't further the stupid spoiled small minded typical liberal college kid stereotype.

I'd sooner become a male hooker for STD positive homosexuals than have ANYTHING to do with a neocon professionally (except to oppose them to my dying breath).

Furthermore, as a high school teacher I doubt seriously if that suggestion has any relevance to my future whatsoever.

The strength of my opposition is merely in equilibrium to their vileness.

Your career is set, it wouldn't be important for you to chat him up. Say the OP is in buisness school or osme kind of economic/finance program. When he gets out of college and applys to Earnsten Young or some Wall Street firm, or if he is in law school and wants to apply to a top 25 firm, you don't think a reference letter from John Ashcroft is gonna pull some weight for him? Isn't that SLIGHTLY more important to his future than protesting some stupid policy?

So instead of having a nice, casual, semi-professional dinner, you have to be the typical college douchebag and ruin it for everyone there? Don't expect the staff of your college to allow to participate in any other special functions.

So you get rewarded by your University and you choose repay them by making some meaningless statement where you'll likely end up looking like an ass? Mmmmmkay.

edit: You're not a member of the LaRouche Youth by chance?
