just wanna share. Make all the jail jokes as pleased, but it really sucked.

btw: anyway lawyers in the house?

------------------------------------------------
After we lost a member of the community due to DUI, do you really think this is appropriate and something to be proud of?

Note: You does not refer to andylawcc - but to those that want to defend such actions

#1.... I'm glad you're alive to talk about it.
#2..... I'm wishing you had paid more attention to the outpouring of grief and emotion that filled this site when Acemcmac was struck and killed by a drunk driver.
#3.....A cab home is cheaper than , well, you know.....

Dude, that really sucks. I don't know about you, but for me that would totally screw my life and plans up. :(

How far were you over the limit?

It's definitely a sh!tty deal, but life will go on. Live, learn, and now just start bumming rides off of friends whenever you're heading out to drink.

My sister got a DUI the other week. She will lose her license for a year.

Enjoy - life is better when you don't drink!

I hope you go to jail.

People who drink and drive are the most selfish individuals on the Earth. They think they are so important and nobody else matters.

Bubba will show you just how important you are

Everything I wanted to say has already been covered. Just recap over all these posts.

I doubt it. If he was going to be hard on himself he wouldn't have gotten drunk enough to realize he was unable to drive. We all make mistakes, but damned stupidity kills.

Showing off your ignorance, again, I see. Selfish? At best, maybe somewhat irresponsible. If he got caught at .010 or .012, I'd have no problem with it as long as he could handle himself well. Intoxication limits are artificially low because the insurance companies buy off politicians.

Lay off the self-righteous rhetoric and try to be constructive for once.

I think not.

If you are going to drink then don't drive.
Simple as that.

Not to mention .08 and .09, which we can thank the prohibitionists (MADD) that no politician wants to stand up to for.

Honestly, I've always felt that drinking and driving, much like speeding, needs some type of gradation in terms of severity of the charge and punishment. Permanently marring someone's driving history for blowing a 0.08 just doesn't equate to justice in my opinion, especially if there wasn't an accident.

You think not what? There is nothing wrong with drinking and driving as long at you are not intoxicated. The levels of intoxication have been marked as lower-than-actual levels by politicians under the influence of greedy insurance companies.

When you repeat their ignorant statements, it then becomes ignorant rhetoric, which you were spewing in great quantities.

I am against DUI mainly because of this guy: acemcmac

If the driver who hit him was blowing whatever it is you all are calling illegal, but "low", would you say it was an "accident"?

The guy that hit him was in the .20's somewhere.

Edit: Specifically, it was at .242 which is more than double of the high end of what I said was intoxicated.

It's crap like this from MADD that makes the DUI laws so ridiculous. Parading victims around doesn't make good public policy.

There is NOBODY, repeat, NOBODY, who is not impaired at the BAC's you mention. Every single person on the face of the earth is at least slightly impaired at those limits.

Just because you can walk around a bar or a party and not seem intoxicated at those limits does NOT mean that it's okay to get behind the wheel.

There has been study after study after study that shows this.
