Now it looks like all of the occupy locations are being shut down one by one.
Other than vandalism caused at banks, did it accomplish anything?

It looked like a bunch of homeless/life failures who finally found a place of belonging and wanted to protest against the banking industry unaware that their life situations wouldn't be any different .
 
Yes, it gave worthless fucks who should have been applying for jobs a reason to slack off for a few more months and blame their problems on "the man".
 
Destroying shit, and in turn creating revenue for people whose job is fixing shit. I'm sure the glass repair guys got a lot of business from all the broken windows.
 
I guess the late 1960's are so far in memory that they had to remind us that liberal hippie douches are ill informed, annoying, and useless. If they would just spend a little time looking at themselves they would realize the true cause of their anger.
 
They left there parents basements for a month to protest against the big evil corporations. They changed nothing as far as i can tell.

At least one lesbian become straight for a while, the power of pepper spray.

Did you just compare civil rights and the occupy protests and associate them both with liberal hippie douches?

One thing I agree with OWS is:
- Do not privatize profits and socialize losses in the future. Those banks should have been allowed to fail like Lehman (as long as the systemic risks from these failures are taken into account)

What I don't agree with OWS is:
- People should believe in equal opportunity but not equal results.
 
I think it's now about the 1% vs. 1% from both ends of the spectrum and the 98% got stuck in between.

I'm all for holding people accountable, but what they're doing is actually more harmful to their own neighborhoods and livelihood than the 1% that aren't affected by their so called "movement" one iota.

Also, I do hope that I'll become part of the 1% one day, and damn if one of them lazy bastard think they're gonna stop me.
 
It filled a news void. No more explosions in Japan, no mass death for a few months, and nutjob political candidates have worn thin.

The ones in Edmonton should have been shot. While "occupying" private property, homeless shelters noted a dramatic increase in the number of people being served. That is beyond low. Homeless people actually need that food. The occupiers are not homeless, so this is unacceptable. What they did is just as bad as what they accuse the 1% of doing - stealing from people who have less than them.

pissed a lot of people off. stores around the stupid movement lost a lot of money. cities shelled out millions of tax money for cop over time and sanitation workers to clean up the mess.

Protests haven't accomplished anything since the civil rights era, at least in this country, right, wrong, or indifferent.

The problem is twofold :

(1)- The protestors are disorganized and too spoiled and scared of consequences to do anything of note.

(2)- The individuals or groups that are being protested against fully realize that the country is full of brainwashed ineffectual idiots, and they can go on indefinitely doing the same old shit with zero worries besides possibly some bad PR now and again.

I didn't see Civil Rights anywhere in his post. Did You? Most of the hippie protest in the late 60s was over the Vietnam War and against " The Man ".

And yes they are both performed by Liberal Hippie Douches.
 
They weren't organized and they lived like swine. Call them hippies or whatnot but it looked like homeless camps.

A debate needs to be had and honestly riots should ensue to make the point clear but you need real people to lead and not a bunch of smelly, uneducated, unemployed, idiots.

This is a much needed first step as they propose a constitutional amendment, where the legislators would obviously fall short, given them being the direct benefactors of corporate sponsorship.

OWS should stay strong until the rest of America's cities follow LA's lead in putting this amendment in place.
