My hope is that it made more people realize that our government is owned by corporations and rich people, and does not represent the best interests of the average citizens. How well that idea has been communicated, I'm not sure.

It's a beginnig. Now that the seeds have been sown they'll be out in full force this spring. Here in Albany, the Occupiers are still hanging on even now.
One thing that the occupy protests showed me is really how far out there a lot of the right wingers are. On these forums it brought out a lot of passion from the right in the form of name calling and posts that did little more than tow the party line with very little substance to back up their propaganda.
