So... Black Friday sucked ass. How is Cyber Monday usually?

the recession was over last year, didn't you guys hear?

I picked up an office chair I don't need right now but will in 6 months in the new house. So it goes.

Didn't go out on Black Friday. Went out this morning and picked up a copy of The Lord of the Rings Trilogy on Blu-ray for $7.99 at Target. Also got a few DVDs.

In store? Damn. I ordered some of those online and thought it'd be canceled as a price mistake...looks like they might actually come in! 😱

Unfortunately they were going to be gifts but now my ETA is in January. 🙁

I should have been looking earlier, but now I'm wanting to upgrade my TV. olevia 32" 720p with 1 hdmi port, I want something the same size, 1080p, with more hdmi slots. I'm sure I missed some deals during the day. Hopefully something will pop up

waste of money to replace 32 with 32

I really didn't see anything I "needed" but a few things I "wanted" [$25.00 of a console... and an i5 laptop to replace my netbook and 2 year old core2duo dell laptop]. It just seemed the prices weren't rock bottom deals. Low end laptop specials - but that's what they are - Lower end than my 2 year old core2duo laptop.

I remember Black Friday being full of deals you could mop up and then resell for a nice tidy profit - I just don't see that anymore [or maybe I just wasn't looking at the right products]

It's like this deal:

Portable Air Compressor on sale at Lowe's for $19.99 [normally $39.99]. I can get an air compressor with the same functionality for $19.99 [which is not on sale] from another store... and probably cheaper if I looked elsewhere.

The deals were a total sham. Unless you got a doorbuster you got mostly ripped off. I saw frantic people buying things "on sale" that were just as expensive or more expensive than their regular price.

A good example is this little Sanyo 26" LCD TV I bought from Walmart a couple months ago. At first it was $268, and it went up to $288 when I ended up buying it. Today on BF it was $318, listed as "previously $335!"

So yeah unless you got a door buster you probably got ripped off. The amount of driving around in that crazy traffic and navigating overstuffed stores full of idiots to find the one or two decent non-door buster deals is not really worth it.

Ordered one too, and got the same email. I decided to check one of the local stores that still showed Limited Availability on the website. Went in and they had no spot for the Trilogy, or any signs advertising it. Brought in the print out from online and the employee checked using his scanner. Showed 1 in store, and it took him awhile to find it in the stock room.

I was shocked they actually had it, and didn't argue over the price. It scans as $7.99 in store.

I hope the online orders go though for everyone. I don't think Target was prepared for how many orders they would get.

It was advertisement pricing error that they decided to honor(they notified stores on Nov 21). They then changed the online store price to $7.99 when their online deals when live.

Since they decided to honor the price, they cannot just cancel everyones orders. Those who ordered earliest will likely to see their fulfilled. Those who jumped on board late won't not because of pricing issues, but Target has a policy of canceling orders they cannot fufill within a certain time frame. If the orders aren't shipped by the new estimated date, they will be canceled.

There is unlikely to be enough inventory in the world to fulfill the orders Target got. Their online inventory management needs some work. So does Neweggs.

I ordered near the end of the deal because when I checked the item page a few minutes later it was OOS.

I noticed on another forum some people have been successful getting rain checks for the Trilogy. Although on the receipt it says that the item is limited and may not be replenished.

The highlight of my black friday....

Gap.

Everything was 50% off.

Deal, right? After all...it's 50% off.

My gf proceeds to get jeans. there is a sign that says $30. My gf thinks it's $15. Yes, that logic would be correct until some other person wants to confirm it's 50% off the lowest price. Nope, it's 50% off the original price. that $30 price is AFTER the "big 50% door buster sale". The original price of these jeans are 69.95. Associate then says "See, if you wait till after 10AM, you'll pay more" as she takes down those signs. My gf and I just gave her this blank stare...then we left the store.

So, $35 is less than $30 according to a Gap employee.

I'm going to start saving time by making generic responses to posts:

Standard ATOT "THE ONE THING I WAS LOOKING FOR WAS NOT ON SALE ANYWHERE THEREFORE ALL THE BLACK FRIDAY DEALS SUCKED!!!!" post.

Does cyber Monday start 12:01am tonight? Im looking for a gaming laptop. Would it be worth it to stay up til midnight and browse the deals?
