So... Black Friday sucked ass. How is Cyber Monday usually?

I should have been looking earlier, but now I'm wanting to upgrade my TV. olevia 32" 720p with 1 hdmi port, I want something the same size, 1080p, with more hdmi slots. I'm sure I missed some deals during the day. Hopefully something will pop up

Yeah, BF seemed terrible this year. Got a camera for about $20 off, that was about the best I could do (for what I wanted).

People are disappointed in BF because of electronic goods were shitty. They are always shitty except one or two. They push out subpar models for cheap on BF. There were good deals on Blu Rays and soft goods(clothing, bedding, etc). You can saves tons of money on soft goods during BF, but soft goods aren't flashy.

I got a lot of BluRay, all $10 or less including Mad Men Seasons 1-3. I also got in on the LOTR Trilogy at Target when it first went live but its a colossal fuckup on Targets part. I'm expecting all online orders to be canceled. Smart people bought it Weds for $80 and got price adjustments on Friday for the $7.99.

As for TV's a shitty $300 TV is a shitty $300 TV. The Buy.com Panasonic was the only good TV deal. The best TV deals were online before Black Friday. The best time to buy TVs are when new models are announced or released. That mainly happens Jan-March, and sometimes throughout the year.

When times are booming and there is greater discretionary spending retailers can get away with more loss leaders. When margins are this tight getting shit at cost is about as good as it gets....

The point of Black Friday is to bring people into retail outlets.

As BF's popularity grows, stores need to fewer and fewer crazy things to get people shopping. There are worse deals because there are more customers and there's no need to sell tons of stuff at a loss when the local newspaper + internet + word of mouth has already gotten millions of people out of bed and into your store.

It's a numbers game.

Grrr what the fuck is wrong with online retailers. Its not 1997, its about to be 2011. Overselling SHOULD not happen... See Buy.com Panasonic TV and various deals at Newegg. Best Buy has done it right, if they went out of stock, they are shipping it as soon as they get more in inventory. Shitty Newegg just outright cancels. Its one thing for things that aren't being made anymore(the Buy.com TV), but blu rays. Come on honor your fucking deal.

I spent $20 at Radio Shack for a 6-foot HDMI cable because I needed one ASAP. Instead of a $3 at Monoprice. So it was a loss for me 🙁

Here's hoping Cyber Monday is better! 😀

I dropped off my wife's brother at Walmart at 12 AM last night and picked him up at 5:30 AM with his television. While I was there I got CoD4 and Killzone 2 (both non-greatest hits editions) on PS3 for $10 each. I also bought Kick-Ass on Blu-ray for $10 at BB around 7 PM tonight. That was all I was interested in. A lot of underwhelming deals.

I thought it was funny that a lot of people were lining up for $90 dollar DS Lites at Walmart last night. When I went to H-E-B Plus this morning to return a RedBox movie at around 11 AM, they had a stack of about 50 of them in assorted colors for the same price.

I spent $20 at Radio Shack for a 6-foot HDMI cable because I needed one ASAP. Instead of a $3 at Monoprice. So it was a loss for me 🙁

Here's hoping Cyber Monday is better! 😀

Radio Shack had a 500Gb 2.5" external HD for $40 after coupon..not too bad 🙂

Express.com had 40% off everything from their website. I got a few shirts stacked with a $40 off 100 coupon. I'm mildly pleased. Also got Lord of the Rings trilogy on Blu-ray for $24 at Amazon.

True. The last exceptional Black Friday deals I remember taking place before the recession.
2007 was a pretty good year. 2008 was the beginning of Amazon deals for me so I haven't done a lot of black friday shopping since then.

Cyber monday always sucks more than black friday, so I'm not expecting much.

BF pretty much sucked this year, not even for pc games 🙁 i was sad panda

but

Me, my bro's GF were able to land 3 40" westinghouse LCD HDTV. It's pretty sweet.

One for bro's GF
One for grandma (early x-mas gift since their 50" DLP gone fubra, just on time too 😛 )
And one for me as an impulse buy >_> (using it as comp monitor lols !)

These TVs are the best deal so far imo. and ALL 3 the cost as much as my 32" westinghouse LCD TV (720P) just a few years ago lol !

I got 2x2 mushkin ddr3 1333 for $30 AR from Newegg. I don't if we'll see ram drop to $20 AR for 4 gigs again, so I figure this was a pretty good buy.

Haven't goten anything else. I'm trying to find a cheap laptop to keep me entertained when I have to travel for Christmas and in January, but I don't want to spend a lot considering Zacate and Sandy Bridge are so close to being released.

Depends what you wanted, but it was lacking this year. What do you expect? Times are tough. retailers are going to use black friday to gain lost ground. they will not do it by selling stuff at very low cost this time around. Face it, BF is a gimmick in the making.

There were a few....

I got NBA 2K11 for the PS3 for $29. not bad. Also, JcPenny has the usally fleece pants for $7, which is not bad.

There was that Sony Ipod dock clock for $60. That was not bad price
guitar center had those guitar stands for $5, which is not bad either.

Madden 11 was $29-$35, but seeing how that game is a POS, I think it's a horrible deal 😉

I got a Garmin Nuvi 1450LMT for $129 at Target, Shop Vac for $15 at Walmart, trampoline and enclosure for $65 at Kmart, and some toys and things for my kids at Toys R Us.

I got a Belgian waffle maker for $5. Black Friday certainly did not suck ass. Everyone knows this.

It was actually pretty good this year. I think Amazon had the best deals of anyone (with Walmart a close second), and I was able to score everything online 🙂

Got a few new Xbox releases for $29 each (reg $59), some bluray collections for $10, a Shark steam mop for $39 (reg $109), a $250 Virgin Mobile cell phone for $160 + $50 gift card, and a few other things.

Last year sucked. They made up for it this year.

Didn't go out on Black Friday. Went out this morning and picked up a copy of The Lord of the Rings Trilogy on Blu-ray for $7.99 at Target. Also got a few DVDs.
