Bad deal. i7-2600K was only $80 at ACE Hardware. Coulda gotten the unlocked version for only a penny more.

Best thing to do is look only if you need something in particular, otherwise there's a chance you'll either get crap you need or settle for mediocre deals.

Cyber Monday is usually decent, but every year Black Friday gets more heavily advertised and pushed, and so does Cyber Monday. The more retailers push the two days, the larger the percentage of crappy deals.

bolded is truth. I feel this is the reason for these deals becoming so shitty. I think this is why slickdeals has gotten really shitty too. Good deals online are becoming exceedingly rare.

They went berserk with the front page deal posting the past 2 days. A few of them were marginally good deals versus normal prices.

Yeah. Most of the deals were most definitely NOT slick.

The only things I was like, "Mmm.. tasty." were some of the memory deals where you get like 8GBs for $80, but that's after MIR. MIRs are sketchy sometimes. It wasn't good memory either though. DDR3-1333. Not 1600 or great timings, etc.

I got a Belgian waffle maker for $5. Black Friday certainly did not suck ass. Everyone knows this.

It sucked so bad that it was the first BF that I failed to buy anything at all. The B&M store deals were crap and the online offering (including the "Super Secret" Newegg sale) were so very disappointing.

When times are booming and there is greater discretionary spending retailers can get away with more loss leaders. When margins are this tight getting shit at cost is about as good as it gets....

True. The last exceptional Black Friday deals I remember taking place before the recession.

Yeah I picked up 4GB of Ripjaws 1600 for $50 which wasn't a bad deal. They had the 8GB for $100 but that was sold out early this morning so I missed out. Also snagged the D-Link n router for $60 which was a good deal if you needed to upgrade from g to n.
