I am not sure if this has been posted yet. I did a search and nothing came up, so here it is! Theya re already down to the final 16, so we missed out on the first round. Not to worry as there were no bad choices as of yet. It is good to see all the current crappy SNLers go down to the good old ones 😛

WTF Eddie Murphy vs. Amy Poehler and Eddie only has 75% of the vote? Wow, people are idiots. :frown:

The real shame is that Will Ferrel is currently beating Jane Curtain.

Disagree. For some reason I never really found any of the females on SNL very funny.

Murray
Hartman
Ferrell
Murphy
Carvey
Sandler (although I was a big rosanna rosanna-dana fan. I liked more Sandler characters)
Myers (Chevy is OK, he wasn't on the show long and is a bit of a pompous ass)
Belushi

I voted:

Bill Murray (my favorite)
Phil Hartman
Jane Curtin
Eddie Murphy
Chris Farley
Adam Sandler (I know I know, bad choice, but I love the Gap Girls)
Mike Myers
Jon lovitz (I know people won;t understand this choice either)

Looks like the closest race is between Farley and Carvey, very interesting. I thought Carvey brought more to the table and offered more variety in his characters so I picked him.

Yeah, probably so, but Farley was so damned funny where as Dana was just kinda funny. I never really laughed at much of what Carvey did. Carvey got "tee-hees" out of me but Farley got guffaws out of me.

Farley and Carvey was the toughest choice for me. I went with Carvey because I remember being so fond of couple of his characters. Overall though Farley had more funny characters, and always cracked me up. Maybe I picked the wrong one. Oh well

Carvey never really made me roll over laughing like Farley did... perhaps I'm just into physical comedy sometimes.

And we know you're KT, there's an avatar and your name to the left. There is no need to put it in every post.

I can't help it, it's a compulsion.

I have a soft spot for Carvey's Perot and Garth, so I voted for him.

Dana Carvey was definitely better than Farley. Farley was a one trick pony (though admittedly very good at that one trick); he was a walking fat joke. He had some memorable bits, sure ("I live in a van down by the river!" or "Did you ever see Die Hard?"). But Dana Carvey? Sweet Jesus, the man could impersonate anyone. Phil Hartman was better at looking the part, but no one sounded more on target than Dana Carvey, whether he was doing Bush (We learned well the lesson of Vietnam... stay out of Vietnam), Tom Brokaw (Gerald Ford dead today and I'm gay), or George Michael (Look at my butt! It's a perfect circle, can't you see! Accept it before it destroys you!). And then there was the church lady (could it be... SATAN!?), Garth, Hans, and that grumpy old man (In my day, there was only one kind of condom... you took a rabbit skin, wrapped it around your dink and tied it off with a bungee cord!)... Dana Carvey was absolutely brilliant, one of the top 3 cast members ever.

Carvey by a huge margin should be the result. George Bush, Wayne's World, Church Lady, Hanz and Franz vs a guy who shouted a lot and fell onto tables. Not even close. I liked the motivational speaker I guess, but that was really all that Farley ever did. All his characters were basically a variation on that, or he was a supporting "straight man".

Murray vs Hartman is tough

But I have to go with Hartman. Most versatile cast member they ever had.
Murray became Murray after SNL, but sadly, SNL was pretty much all Hartman ever had 🙁

News Radio ended too soon.....

Bill Murray vs. Billy Crystal - :music: Star Wars! :music:

Phil Hartman vs. Dan Aykroyd - I went against the grain here. Elwood Blues, people!

Will Ferrell vs. Jane Curtin - Trebek > Ignorant Slut

Eddie Murphy vs. Amy Poehler - Seriously, should be 100% Eddie

Chris Farley vs. Dana Carvey - Just for this bit alone

Gilda Radner vs. Adam Sandler - Sandler just did too much crap

Mike Myers vs. Chevy Chase - Wayne & Garth take this one

John Belushi vs. Jon Lovitz - I love Lovitz, but Belushi should win this whole thing

The Chippendales skit with Farely and Swazy is by far the greatest skit ever on SNL.
