Eh? There's a ton of difference, the "sports bar" I had for breakfast has about half the fat of a snickers, 1/3 the sugar, over 4x the protein and a bunch of vitamins. Outside of them both having chocolate there's literally nothing similar about them. The one I had didn't even have soy, it has a Whey Isolate. And on top of that the bar I ate will hold me over until lunch, which a Snickers wouldn't come close to doing.

Chocolate coated "health food". This is my convinced face. :hmm:

That is all probably true, but what is the point of comparing bad to worse?

They're not bad for you though, the ratio of fat to calories in many of them is really good, you can't say that for a candy bar. Also the sugar content's low, they have some vitamins and a solid form of protein in whey (good bars). People who compare a legit protein bar to a snickers nutrition wise confuse me. Supreme Protein bars arn't bad, neither are FortiFX or Quest bars. This is what I ate this morning

Total Fat 5g, Saturated Fat 0mg, Trans Fat 0g, Cholesterol < 5 mg, Sodium 350mg 15%, Potassium 90mg 3%, Total Carbohydrate 24g 8%, Dietary Fiber 18g 72%, Sugars 3g, Protein 20g

Calcium 4%
Iron 4%
Phosphorus 6%
Magnesium 8%

Protein Blend (Whey Protein Isolate, Milk Protein Isolate), Isomalto-Oligosaccharides* (100% Natural Prebiotic Fiber), Almonds, Water, Apples, Natural Flavors, Sea Salt, Cinnamon, Lo Han Guo, Sucralose.

* Isomalto-Oligosaccharides Are 100% Natural Prebiotic Fibers Derived From Plant Sources.

Outside of the Sucralose, which isn't even really that bad, what do you find wrong with it's profile? And I love getting almopst 2/3rd's my daily fiber from 1 bar.

I've started eating QuestBars, specifically Chocolate Brownie. If you nuke it for 10s and imagine real hard it tastes approximately like what a brownie should taste like if you're numb on Novocaine.

PB&J and Vanilla Almond are wretched though.

The only reason I eat them is cause I run around like a damn fool all day at work and don't have a desk, let alone a fridge to put "real" food in. I end up putting the QuestBar in my pocket for a while to have it warm up.

I'm surprised at all the recommendations for "sports bars". Eat a Snickers if you guys want candy that bad, there isn't much difference just less soy in a Snickers.

^---I'm with dumbass.

You're kidding right? Clif Builder bars are nothing like "power bars" which are carb oriented. Builder bars have 30carbs (mostly from non-sugar sources) and 20g of protein.

Junk food for health nuts. Nothing in those bars I want in my body.

Every single version of those builder bars has at least 20g of sugar, with very little fiber. Those things ARE basically candy bars.

Also, 30g of carbs in a little bar is far more than I would like.

Really, guys?

Quest Bar - Chocolate Brownie:

Calories: 170
Total Fat: 6g
Total Carb: 24g
Dietary Fiber: 19g
Sugars: 1g
Protein: 20g

Snickers
Calories: 280
Total Fat: 14g
Total Carb: 35g
Dietary Fiber: 1g
Sugars: 30g
Protein: 4g

Yeah... that's a Snickers all right. I can't speak for Clifs, but I wish all my meals had the nutritional content/ratios of Quest bars.

There's nothing junky about the bars I eat though, I'm confused are you referring to them as junk food because they taste like a candy bar? You don't want fiber, whey protein or vitamins in your body?

If you can point me to something I could eat quickly while on the go that you consider "healthy" that has 15g+ of fiber and 20-30g's of protein I'm all ears.

Actually those quest bars look pretty impressive. Out of curiosity what the hell is Lo Han Gou?

I was directing my statements toward the people recommending Cliff Bars which are total shit.

Soy Protein Isolate, Beet Juice Concentrate, Organic Brown Rice Syrup, Organic Evaporated Cane Juice, Palm Kernel Oil, Organic Rolled Oats, Unsweetened Chocolate, Cocoa, Organic Soy Protein Concentrate, Vegetable Glycerin, Natural Flavors, Organic Dry Roasted Almonds, Rice Starch, Cocoa Butter, Inulin (Chicory Extract), Organic Milled Flaxseed, Organic Oat Fiber, Organic Sunflower Oil, Soy Lecithin, Salt.
