Smashburger was ok the one time I tried it, but it definitely wasn't worth the price. The meat was cooked merely adequately. Not very juicy at all. They load it up with fancy flavors to hide that.

im so sick of these god damn trendy burger places!!!!

Well, it's no wonder they are popular...burgers at your standard fast food restaurants are all god awful. McDonalds/Burger King/Jack In The Box/Carl's Jr/etc. Just bottom of the barrel beef/buns. Wendy's seems to have the best burgers of any fast food national chain (In-n-out/five guys/smash burger are not found all across the nation)

Not the only one, I went there and the burger was shitty, I can't comment on the regular fries. But I got the cajun ones expecting them to be breaded and delicious like Rally's, Checker's or Popeye's. Needless to say I was beyond disappointed in them.

I wouldn't say I don't like them, but 5 Guys failed to impress me.

Best restaurant burgers I've ever had is at a New England chain called Plan B.

you guys should try Stacked. You can custom build your own burgers on an IPad and they actually use good meat.

People eat too many burgers.

Burgers aren't that great IMO.

I like elevation burger, but I don't like the size of the burger. A single isn't enough, a double patty is too much of a meatwad, and two burgers is more than I want and costs too much.

I get a 3 patty vertigo burger in a lettuce wrap. Their fries are better than Smashburger's fries imho.

we have a place called The Works. The have some very interesting burgers. They are pricey though.

http://www.worksburger.com

Yeah I tried to get to one when I was there last year, but couldn't make it. I did have a truly amazing burger at a restaurant in Downtown Toronto (it's right near the biggest sports bar in Canada I think); they put this caramelized thick-slab bacon on it and wow, it blew my mind!

I might be back in Toronto in the Fall, so will try to go back to that restaurant then and also try The Works.

You have to order everything on the burger at 5-Guys to get it right.

I agree. I would much rather grab a bowl of pad thai or something. Anything that I would not typically make at home. Having a kitchen aid stand mixer with the grinder, I blend and make burgers those places cannot touch. And yes bitches, I just played the ATOT make your own card. :awe:

Damn you, we can't have one f'in thread without someone saying "my homemade shit is better than any retailer shit!".

You're also the guy we don't call because we're hungry for burgers and you want to eat some foo-foo Asian noodle crap. :p

My list for burgers.

1. Wendy's
2. McDonald's
3. Burger King
4. Steak and Shake

5. Anything else is too expensive and I'd rather just make my own at $8+

This place is doing well because for some reason people are going apeshit over these "gourmet" burger joints lately. Everyone has an opinion on which one is the best and it's gotten almost competitive amongst people which one has the best shitty burger with unlimited toppings.

Meanwhile they sell a shitty product for a large amount of money and everyone loves it because it's a "specialty" burger joint. Don't worry, more will pop up, the fad will die, and they will all lower prices to compete and survive, eventually going belly up.
